Should I be grateful that I can at least buy Korean food here? The place feels like a neglected Korean corner store from the ’90s, and the woman at the register looked absolutely miserable, as if she was thinking, “What am I even doing here?” The whole place just feels gloomy.
Visited Blenheim Rd location the past weekend and it was great; I love coming to Kosco, I always get overstimulated shopping here because my mind gets full of so many meal ideas. They never disappoint with the amount of products on display, including fresh veg. I found out they did membership discounts as well so that's a bonus. Plenty of parking here, with butchers, bakery and fruit and veg shop meters away
KOSCO is an Asian Korean supermarket. It has a lot of stuff, including some daily necessities. Most of them are Korean products, and a small part are products from other Asian countries, such as Japan, Taiwan, China, etc.
I am a Korean. I really wanted to eat tteokbokki. But Korean restaurants are too expensive! It's twice as expensive as in Korea! But my wallet situation has changed since I went to Kosco! I bought rabokki ramen and rice cake, and I eat tteokbokki three times a week! But the price is half the price! I love you kosco that makes me happy!
Kosco a great addition to Blenheim Square for groceries which also includes a dollar plus shop and a health shop. Just make sure that you pay for each shop separately and not to walk with your items into the next shop (like we did) even though its inside the same shop. The people in there were lovely and I am already looking forward to going there again.
Various types of Asian foodstuffs are easy to find there and categorized into the various places of origin. Includes fresh vegetables and alcoholic beverages that would be unlikely to be found in other stores. Has probably the most extensive range of instant noodles of any store in Christchurch.
Always ended up buying something here. Great options for ingredients needed for Korean meals. But double check your receipt as I've been charged original price on those on specials.
