Me and my partner come here very often and will still said that this is the best Korean restaurant in Christchurch. Perfect food, nice staff and the atmosphere. Will come back again as it’s worth all the price we paid.
Really yummy and well worth a visit. We had the pork and beef meal set for 2, but substituted the included beef short rib for the boneless eye fillet. The cuts are generous and tender, the inclusions with the BBQ set are flavourful and the sauces are really tasty. I also had the strawberry Soju and it was delicious!
KBBQ & KAROAKE??? Must I say more?! Fantastic. Our server was awesome. We had fried squid to share which was munched down so quickly and paired with the coleslaw was even better. We ordered a Korean bbq set menu for 2 people, and it fed 3 of us easily. There were SO many side dishes that were so delicious! I highly recommend the pork belly, kimchi & seafood pancake. We had food left over and headed over to karaoke afterwards. The pricing is a little pricier than other Korean bbq places in Christchurch, but we had a really great experience here.
We went for a birthday dinner with my partner and had a wonderful experience. Although there were fewer chicken options on the mains menu, the staff kindly accommodated our request, and the chef prepared it just the way we wanted. The food was absolutely delicious, full of rich flavors, and came with plenty of side dishes. The staff were very attentive and provided excellent service throughout. They also offer barbecue options and karaoke bookings, which makes the place even more enjoyable. We’ll definitely be visiting this lovely restaurant again!
Nice Korean BBQ with good service nice environment, good quality food and prices. Some dishes need to be more traditional and stay away from the row where the karaoke line goes through.
We came for the Korean bbq and loved it. The seafood pancake was the crispiest we’ve ever had (and loved it!) and was incredibly generous with toppings. The sauce they had with the kbbq was also delicious (and unique!). The staff were also great, service was quick and atmosphere is nice.
Went to Gogi for the first time and we had a wonderful time! The food was nice and the male waiter was helpful in explaining how to use the BBQ. Not all the staff knew if the dishes were Gluten free, so it didn't give us confidence as we had to ask every time if the dish was GF. It was stated in the menu the GF options, but seriously it all look like meat so it is hard to know which was which, as we were new to the restaurant. The set menu was a good idea as we were a larger group. Overall, had a great time with the meal and karaoke after. It was rather pricey but since it was a special occasion, it was ok. Will check in another time to see if this restaurant be on my weekly list.
Probably the best KBBQ I’ve tried!! We ordered a Set Menu for 4 people of the Beef & Pork, & everything was generously portioned. All set menus include accompaniments (bean sprouts, kimchi, salad, glass noodles & some vegetable mix), beef fried rice and Kimchi Seafood Pancake (winner for me!). We also ordered the Half & Half Fried Chicken, it was delicious!! The original fried chicken was great, but the yum yum sauce on the other half was saucy & juicy!! Great chicken spot ☺️
We went quite early for dinner and they out of lettuces… I can’t imagine a Korean BBQ with no lettuces!!! On the night, the service is very very slow. We pressed the red button in our room many times and have to go out for water or change stove top plates… The food is OK, like all the BBQ, all depends on your “cooking” skills, we also had some Korean Rice Wine and they are fantastic. I’m gonna go to Kosco to buy more
