I was here on holiday from Australia, and was absolutely blown away with the portion sizes and quality of food that was ordered. Staff were amazing too. Gem of a restaurant that I would highly recommend visiting if nearby or staying within the area.
The Thirsty Weta has recently opened for breakfast. This is well worth the visit. The Turkish Eggs on the menu is stunning and a refreshing change. The coffee was great and the service professional. Awesome staff! There is an option to eat inside or out and we enjoyed the warm winter morning. I will definitely be back.
Good lunch spot with indoor and outdoor seating. I had the friend chicken burger and my husband had the sticky chicken. Both were tasty. We were looking forward to the fried chicken baos (per other reviews), but were told those were taken off the menu a few weeks before.
We did a lunch stop here during our New Zealand Bus Tour. We were able to sample some craft beer and had an excellent nacho style appetizer for lunch. They make them differently than in North America (Canada or the US) and they were exceptional. Loved the patio and the ability to sit outside and enjoy life.
Food was VERY good. As were the drinks. Heaters outside make outside seating more comfortable. The inside has a charming atmosphere. Waiters and waitresses are friendly and attentive.
Great lunch spot. Cool main room with historic photos od the town and local sporting teams. Burger was delicious. Staff were friendly and efficient.
We got the surf and turf with mushroom sauce - the steak was cooked perfectly and the surf was delicious. The taste was great and the service was even better! They have a huge menu with lots to choose from - I recommend the brownie!
The food was lovely, and the chicken tacos were particularly delicious. A decent sized portion for lunch. The service was very slow, but they were clearly low on staff and overworked. They still served us with a smile and were very friendly. It was clearly a popular place. It's just a shame of the location it's in. The town is seriously rundown, with very little going on. I think if they were situated in a more cosmopolitan area, it would be packed all day long.
