Such a beautiful park. Bit disappointed that we couldn't see the glowing worm after sunset because the gate was closed at 5 30pm during winter time

The park is great but one track is closed and the alternative route was not well marked and we got lost.

The McLaren Falls Waterfall Loop is a popular and scenic walking track located in McLaren Falls Park, about 20 minutes drive from Tauranga, New Zealand. Here's what you need to know about this enchanting trail: Trail Details: Length: Approximately 20 minutes to complete the loop Difficulty: Easy, wheelchair accessible Highlights: Waterfall, native bush, stream landscape, and glow worm

It was short loop walk to the waterfalls during the day and we also did night time to see the flow worms along the path. Must carry flashlights during the night then turn the flashlights off to see the flow worms.

Quaint track through the trees to a medium sized waterfall. There are glowworms on one side of the track however tese need to be viewed at night. The waterfall does look quite cool and has a little paddle area at the bottom. There are some widows makers above the track that may oneday make the news if an unfourtunate event happens.

Was a lovely walk yesterday through the park. Turns out the waterfall loop is quite short (as are most of the other walls) we got to the sign just after the waterfall to either do the glow worm track or Nikau track, did the Nikau track but no Nikaus in sight! But it did get us to the top of the park. We continued through the ponga grove track and down through to the Magnolia gully track and all the way down to the lakeside and to Cherry Bay where we stopped for a snack and then walked to the entry and back to the car park again. Took about 1.5 hrs and felt like we covered a great deal of the park. Lovely range of different kinds of trees so great to look along the way and see how many you know. Will be back for more adventures.
