   After visiting several preschools, we immediately knew Waka Huia Childcare was the right fit for our daughter. The environment is warm and welcoming, and the teachers are truly caring, taking time to connect with our family and culture. There’s a strong sense of community, and each day brings thoughtfully set-up play experiences. Our daughter loves going to ‘Kura’ and always looks forward to it! I highly recommend Waka Huia Childcare!

   Waka Huia is such a lovely special preschool. Preschools don’t come better than this. The teachers are incredibly nurturing, caring and calm. The place is full of love and they genuinely cater to each child’s interests and needs. My son has loved his time at Waka Huia and all the experiences he has gained there, no two days are the same due to the a creativity of the teachers. The environment has an emphasis on nature, which we love too. Such a gem!

   Waka Huia is the most wonderful place, very child-centred and in a calm/ relaxed/ family environment. Different aged kids all play together, the big kids look out for the little ones, lots of tuakana-teina opportunities. The kaiako are awesome educators, highly experienced and genuinely loving and kind. My daughter has grown a lot under their gentle guidance. She loves the animals (chickens and visiting lambs), outside play year round, cups of tea, dress-ups and treasures (shells, wool) to play with.

   We have loved all of our children attending Waka Huia childcare, they have always been cared for on such a personal level, the teachers are all kind and caring but also always up for some fun. The centre has a homely feel about it with something baking in the oven for morning kai, the outside area well set out and always a range of new daily activities laid out inside. They are excellent at communication and nothing is ever a problem. Our kids have a ball everyday they attend the centre and come home full of the days stories, highly recommend.

   I started my 3 year old son at Waka Huia in January and we absolutely love it. The centre is very welcoming and homely, filled with great resources both inside and out. The team of teachers are so kind and caring and it is evident in all they do that they are truly passionate about their work. They built a relationship very quickly with not only my boy but our whole family, warmly welcoming us all. They took the time to understand my sons passions and interests, and then incorporate them in his every day play. The stories I get paint a in-depth picture of his learning and he is always excited to share his favourite moments from his day when he gets home. It has made me so happy to watch him flourish at Waka Huia. Having been involved with 4 preschools I can say with confidence that this is an amazing centre and I would enthusiastically recommend it.

   Waka Huia Childcare is a wonderful, fun and engaging, safe space for our little ones. My 2 year old daughter recently joined and it was wonderful transition supported by the amazing staff and she just loves it and all the great opportunities she has for learning and fun. Its a lovely center .. 10/10 recommend!

   A home away from home for my child. Waka Huia has been amazing for my daughter, she looks forward to going every day and I think it’s because of the passionate teachers who make the effort to get to know your child and the parents, the environment, the play and activities that you walk into when you first arrive is great and well set up so many opportunities for indoor and outside play.(the outside area is one of the best I’ve seen) Waka Huia has a warm and comforting environment. My only regret is not starting my daughter at this school sooner. we love it! Highly highly recommend!

   We absolutely love sending our two kids to Waka Huia. Hayley and her amazing team are the kindest, most dedicated and nurturing people we ever could have asked for to look after our wee ones, and I know that every day they are learning in a safe, loving and fun environment. The centre itself is fantastic, my two particularly love the large sandpit and the fruit and vegetable patch. Waka Huia is more like a family than a daycare!
