   I was left extremely disappointed by my recent visit to the Tauranga (Chapel Street) store. I purchased two pairs of Hunting & Fishing branded rugby shorts about a month ago. After only a couple of wearings, the seam down the crotch on one pair separated where it appears there was not enough overlap in the stitching. I returned the faulty goods immediately, but was wait for about 20 minutes while various staff tried to find someone qualified to make a decision on what to do with these. Eventually they asked me to leave the goods with them while they spoke to head office. This morning I was called and told that there was no case for a warranty claim and all they could do is offer me a 30% discount on a new pair. I believe the fault should have been covered by the Consumer Guarantees Act but given the low price and poor quality I have decided not to pursue this further. My recent experience has left me with a very poor impression of the Hunting and Fishing brand. I will not be purchasing any more clothing, boots or equipment for myself or my workers from this store.

   Tried returning a pouch that my son brought for pig hunting only used couple times arrived at pig we caught and straps used to go onto belt were torn off tauranga hunting and fishing would not replace as no receipt was kept faulty low quality with hunting and fishing logo on it shouldn't need receipt didn't think to keep did no expect pouch to be so badly made

   Love hunting and fishing stores normally but ..... Popped into Hunting & Fishing Tauranga recently and left feeling pretty disappointed. The staff, especially in the gun department, came across as unfriendly and dismissive — like they were sizing me up based on how I looked rather than actually helping me out. It felt like if you don’t “look” like the typical hunter, you’re not worth their time. Was hoping for a bit of advice or at least a decent level of customer service, but instead got a cold shoulder Big range of gear, sure — but the atmosphere didn’t make me want to come back. Two stars purely because the store is well-stocked.

   Great helpful and informative staff. I went in for a quality TARP and also to look at some Hunting/Tramping boots. Russell was extremely knowledgeable and helped me choose and complete my purchase of some new boots. Thank you TGA hunting and fishing.

   I'm no expert at fishing by all means, but the service you get from the team here is absolutely awesome. I've been in a few times for fishing gear and the dude was more than happy to help assist with extensive knowledge along with giving great tips and advice for the style of fishing I wish to do. If you're a beginner like me wanting to start out, nicely priced R&R combos and excellent customer service should have you visiting this store.
