   What an amazing hotel! We were confirmed through a third party, but Colleen was not informed! Despite being all booked up she and her husband quickly got an additional room ready for us. It was perfectly appointed and sooo comfortable! It was the best sleep of my trip. I only wish we had more time to spend in the BEAUTIFUL location and the extremely gracious hosts. Breakfast was also delicious and generous. Would definitely stay again!

   If I could get the lady a 0 star I would. We went over to see the place for our daughters birthday. She said we could use the venue and was lovely when we met in person. Then we kept checking in and asking if we could pay a deposit to secure the day she kept saying yes its booked but never got back to us about the payment. She left us hanging. I felt so sad. Wondering what we did to deserve this sort of behaviour. If she didn’t want to host is then just say that she couldn’t do it. Rather than hanging up on my husband when he called and spoke so kindly. Be cautious people.

   Such an amazing place! The Strother family is such a delight and the place was the perfect spot to visit locations nearby like Hobbiton and the Waitomo Glowworm caves. Also they have horses and cows you can say hi to too. It was a perfect stay and I will visit there again next time I'm in New Zealand.

   The location is amazing. The animals are super cute and fun to feed. The rooms are comfortable. The only downside was the unsolicited political opinions we heard from the owner. Have whatever opinions you want, but when you're in a customer service role and people are supposed to feel comfortable in your establishment, keep the opinions to yourself.

   As a group of 8 on a flying trip for work we found Rua Resort a delightful place to rest and refresh! The service was caring including assisting with forgotten items. The “room under the stairs” is delightful and the animals calming.

   The hosts are so lovely, going out of their way to make you feel welcome. Even letting our child take home a soft toy belonging to them, she had fallen in love with. Fantastic property for the kids, with animals to feed, room to play, and a ton of toys to keep them busy. Comfortable rooms with lovely rural views and a wonderful breakfast.

   Paradise! wish we had more time stayed in Rua for 3 days and it was amazing, from the location on how it's easily accessible to nice restaurants to nice tourists spots a quick drive to the main city too. The hospitality of the hosts are beyond impeccable Colleen and her husband were just so warm, loving and caring. We felt very secured and comfortable. They were so warm and really such a pleasure to be hosted by them. A continental style breakfast is also available and yum yum yum simple yet made with love and it was delicious I would chose it against a luxury breakfast with closed eyes the homemade plum jam is a must. Our room was amazing we booked the suite room so spacious we are graced with two balcony that showered us with such an amazing view from sunrise to sunset. Rua is surrounded by such lovely animals too that they rescue we had an opportunity to feed all of them such a nice escape from the life in the city and I can't wait to go back again.
