   We have two WIGGLY and pretty neurotic border collies. The female gets SUPER cranky if you touch her fur the wrong way. I always worry about sending them to a groomer- and it’s hard to find anyone who tolerates them. We opted to shave their back legs at animates today to clean them up. Katie did the work and Elise assisted. What a refreshing experience. Loki is afraid of everything so they helped him right at the gate (instead of in with the noise), and they didn’t even need the muzzle we brought for Pippa (she is super nippy when excited/anxious) absolutely brilliant work, kindness, and empathy for the dogs. Will definitely go back. Really so impressed with the groomer’s patience and the way they talked to the dogs. Thank you- it was just a shave, but the care and sweetness to our dogs gave me confidence in groomers again. We bathed them at the self bath after. Happy dogs on their way home.

   My cat had runny stools, so I went to the store to ask for probiotics for pets. The staff recommended The Missing Link Pet Kelp Formula, but it hasn’t helped even after three days. Later I found out that it’s actually more of a daily supplement rather than a probiotic for diarrhoea. This was quite disappointing, especially as it cost me over $40 and wasn’t the correct product for my cat’s condition. I hope the front desk team can receive better training in product knowledge for future customers.

   Been an avid shopper of Animates Papanui since it first opened! Absolutely love the price (and prompt delivery) of our monthly Black Hawk dog food order. Great savings using auto-renew. This fella loves the stuff (so does his stomach & skin).

   Range of products was great. Staff very friendly and efficient. Only thing is the small car park, difficult to park when you have big vehicles in there already. Only reason why it's not 5 stars. I enjoyed shopping there though.

   Great selection of products across the board and some brilliant sales prices. The dog wash stations are FANTASTIC. Strongly recommend looking into the annual subscription. They are so easy to use and do a brilliant job. 100% worth it. Interacted with 3 staff members while there and all of them were polite, helpful and so kind and easy to engage with.
