   We've been with Unimed since 2013 and they've been absolutely incredible. They're responsive, quick to process claims and prior-approval requests and make payments. Our last health issue is major and time critical. If it wasn't to them covering the cost there is no way the outcome would've been as positive as it is now. Thank you UNIMED you have been a great partner and safety net.

   Extremely frustrating experience. The claim portal simply does not work. I’ve tried multiple times to reset my password and never received a reset email, despite checking spam and trying again. What’s particularly galling is that there’s no issue deducting insurance premiums from my account, yet making a claim feels unnecessarily difficult. It creates the impression that barriers are being put in place to discourage people from accessing the cover they’re paying for. This issue appears to affect both HealthPlus and UniMed websites, which raises serious concerns about reliability and customer access. For an insurance provider, this level of digital failure is unacceptable. I expect much better from a health insurer.

   I have been with UniMed for many years. Although I live in Auckland and they are in Christchurch it didn't impact on the communication. I got email regularly and they seem to have some members benefits too. I would like to thank them for the help regarding my recent health issues. I needed an urgent prior approval for my surgery only a few days ahead. UniMed approved on the same day I emailed them. I was very grateful. After the surgery, using online claim was convenient and easy. However, what was cover and what wasn't really depend on what kind of policy you have. Overall, I highly recommend UniMed.

   Most difficult company to deal with , quick to take your money but trying to get my insurance set up when its paid from a company has been a long process, haven't received a refund, even though we call weekly and told it will go in . No problem with them when It was coming from our account through, very poor business practice, we were relying on the refund which we are still trying to get !!!

   Have recently been making claims for obstetric ultrasounds which have been quite costly $100+ for each scan and it’s not being funded anymore, so have been lucky to have medical insurance to be reimbursed 100% of the fees. I have been claiming through the new online claims system and it’s user friendly and handy for me since I’m always on the move. Service has been great and they’ve always replied to my queries about what I can and cannot claim for.

   Claim reimbursement should take up to 5 days. Now if you call them after a week and a half they just tell you they are short-staffed and will get to it when they get to it. Could take up to 3 weeks.

   Absolutely greedy outfit! We have only been with them for 3 months and they have just increased our premiums substantially!! Do not recommend this company at all for health insurance. Morally wrong to do this.

   I can't fault Unimed Chch. Have had numerous claims for recent health issue and they have been nothing but helpful and very efficient at reimbursing any out of pocket expenses.
