    Outright negative experience with business insurance renewals or claims... I had 2 businesses insured through this company. I will never use this company again... period. In both businesses premium costs went up dramatically after year 1 and a claim settlement offer was ~10% of actual losses All with an exclusion clause was tagged onto the policy to prevent us doing this type of work again... One of my businesses ended up losing ~$40,000 above the sale price as a result on a project We thought we were covered with general liability, and had an incident due to a bad subby creating subpar work we could not accept that ultimately had to be removed and redone at our cost. Through this, we were threatened with statutory demands from our subby (1st step in forced liquidation in court) forcing us to engage a lawyer to defend which we had to pay for ourselves while we received no support from the broker or insurance company or assessor on this claim, and had to chase for updates End result from insurance company after 3-4 months was $3,700 settlement offer... after I was just about to lodge a civil suit against our contractor myself and wasted far too much time managing and resolving the issue personally Their offer used poor maths and poor logic and omitted costs on suppliers invoices amongst other costs lodged during the dispute. Terrible outcome

    Service was good at Christchurch Branch but their underwriting team is a shocker. If you are insuring on a hillside with a new build forget it. A blanket no, they never asked for engineering reports or geotech reports. Not interested in the business.
