   This review and my rating, covers a number of (attempted) contacts with House of Travel over 6 months. With the intention of holidaying at Rarotonga in 2026, I noted a number of advertised specials on the House of Travel website. Unfortunately, all specials only applied for the next 6 odd months although each did say, contact them if different travel dates were being sought, so I did. I sent an email to the Christchurch branch and subscribed to their mail out service. While I received regular emails for specials that did not interest me, my original email was never answered. So I rang the Riccarton office and explained what I wanted. I was told I would be phoned back, I never received that call so phoned them again. The original person who answered my call was on leave so another person said they would chase it up and get back to me, again they did not. Very frustrated by this time, my wife rang another Christchurch office. Finally, we spoke to someone who did listen - Rita. Rita answered calls every time, responded quickly to emails and was genuinely very good to deal with. Unfortunately, despite the special still being advertised and at a good price (we were after a different date range), House of Travel weren’t able to offer a similar deal on that different date range. They did provide an itinerary but the reality was, it was cheaper (by just under $1,000), to make the bookings ourselves, so we did. Overall, one person did well given whatever constraints they had to work with, however the other 3 were hopeless due to no response at all. I appreciate travel agents have to make money but the service and lack of competitive pricing, failed to my expectations.

   Amazing experience with Olivia Whiteside-Jenkins. Planned my whole 3month holiday and there were 0 hickups. I even changed my plans while over there and she helped me. Very very organised went to over 12 different countries and there were no issues

   I called to ask some info about my flight and Julie answered and snapped at me, when I asked her if I can call later since she was rude she said that she was busy. Is that a reason for her to snapped at customers? This is the last time i’m booking with them.
