Did the Gingerbread Room here as part of a family competition... and it was so much fun. Have done a couple of other escape rooms (in Hamilton and Wellington), but this was by far my favourite.
Yesterday I had my first experience at Escape Rooms CHCH and I’ll definitely be back to try more rooms. Booking beforehand with Yenny was a quick and easy process. Upon entry we were welcomed by Bryce who explained the housekeeping to us before taking us into Gingerbread House. I particularly enjoyed how he used different voices to set the scene of the room. This was a very immersive experience which I thoroughly enjoyed. I can’t wait to come back!
I have so very thoroughly enjoyed myself every time I’ve been here, there’s nothing else in this world that makes me quite as happy as doing escape rooms with friends. This place is definitely worth the visit!! I love this place and I love these rooms and I love the seats by reception they’re the best seats. and I especially love Bryce, the sweetie pie who works there. I will be back asap as possible as soon as asap to try another room!!
My wife and I had tons of fun, we played the Mad Scientist and Bunker rooms and had a really good time. Puzzles were awesome and staff were great. I hope to do more escape rooms soon. Many thanks.
We had a fantastic time here! We did the Psycho Motel & Bunker rooms and both were tricky but we all had so much fun and can't wait to come back. Staff were happy, friendly & super welcoming. We highly recommend Escape Rooms! :)
Came here for a work event. I've never been to an escape room before but knew what to expect. This is such a great experience. Safe, clean location. Friendly staff who explained everything clearly. We all had so much fun. Definitely coming back.
The BEST experience. The staff were super friendly, the escape room was well set up and the puzzles were (almost) never ending. We had a blast. We do a fair number of escape rooms and have tried all the companies in Christchurch and this is now my favourite. Not only do you get a 90 minutes experience (most are 60), absolutely packed full of fun puzzles but the staff were so friendly and welcoming and seemed genuinely happy to interact with us. And that really, really makes a difference. It sounds like such a small thing that shouldn't be that important but it absolutely makes this place stand out. I'd totally recommend it just for the greeting and instruction for the room but I don't need to limit myself to that because the whole experience was great. Whether you're new to escape rooms or a seasoned escaper, I would totally recommend Escape Rooms Christchurch.
Such a fantastic experience. The puzzles were interesting and definitely a good challenge. The staff there are super friendly and helpful! The psycho motel has the perfect creepy feel about it and it's staged very well. Can't wait to try out their other rooms!
Fantastic experience, the puzzles were challenging and a lot to cram into the timeframe but that's exactly what you want in an escape room. Staff were fantastic, offering small hints to progress to give you the best chance of completing the final puzzle. We got a small time extension but as a team of two we were still chuffed with that, a third person and I reckon we would've been out on time. Definitely coming back to try the others. Awesome work guys!
We've been to all the escape room places in Chch now and lots around the country - this is in our top 3! We did the mad scientist room which had a cool story line and HEAPS of different types of puzzles to interact with. The level was challenging but everything ticked over enough to keep you still going. We've decided that what makes or breaks the place is the staff and the ambience they create when you arrive. At other places you sometimes feel rushed or the storyline seems a bit gimmicky. The staff here (in particular the manager of the place) are AMAZING! The manager was so welcoming and friendly and enthusiastic about the storyline and getting us set up. They made us feel super welcome and comfortable, showing us the building, the toilets, the lockers, offering us lollies and getting us really comfortable. The way he took the time to set the scene and made us excited to start the room was a really special unique quality that you don't find with most places. This guy honestly needs like a 20/10 rating for how he runs it. We'll be back every time we come to Christchurch as they expand with new rooms. Thank you do much for a great activity!
