Definitely a pleasure getting a tattoo with ANY of the AMAZING staff. Professional and talented individuals - all specialize in different art tyles and peices!!! This is a positive feature of the shop as you are never left without any option. Also having the walk-in tattoos avaliable - makes a "split decision/urge" come true.
A gorgeous gem of a tattoo studio. David was super patient, caring, and passionate about his work and it was a lovely experience! I got quite a fine-line and etailes tattoo, and it turned out beauitfully. Everyone else were also super friendly, really rated the vibes.
The tattoo is good. I love it even though it's not done, however I will not be going back to the same lady to finish it. Ever since I went for a consultation the lady has either, been late, canceled hours even minutes before. (I have to travel far and my partner has to take time off work to look after the kids) not only that but she had massively under quoted me. For both sides of my shoulder together she quoted $800, one side alone (unfinished) is already $950. Love the atmosphere and the tattoo, although if I knew how much time and money this was going to cost me I would have never gone there.
Had an amazing experience at Black orchid collective for my first ever tattoo!. I was in with Gabriel who was definitely the perfect fit for my idea and dream Tattoo. He was fast and helped me with the concept art perfectly. We did it all in one day! His fine line work and dark designs made it come to life. Definitely gonna be a regular!
Such a beautiful atmosphere!! I typically get tattoos from David but have been tattooed by others in the shop and I always leave absolutely stoked with beautiful work. Would absolutely recommend David!

I went in to see Decio for a cut, and walked out feeling a million bucks. He made me feel very welcome and comfortable. His attention to detail is fantastic and he works with love and care. I came in with a boring mop that needed the style fixed, and he worked his magic. My new cut is so fun and he also gave me tips on how to style it. I actually first heard about him through a friend of mine who sees him religiously- Mount Maunganui's most talented hairdresser, I will be back!
I had to wait 30 minutes after my booked time for a tattoo. I was told the artist was running late. I was happy to leave and return in another 30 minutes, which I did. I told the receptionist I would be back in 30minutes as this was how long she expected it to take. I returned after 30minutes but no one was manning the desk nor the cafe. I did not want to annoy the hairdresser so waited 5 minutes. After 5 minutes I gave up and left as I was already frustrated it had been an hour. I was told the artist was waiting an hour for me but this was already after the hour I had to wait. I got a call from her but missed it as had to drive back home, 2 hours out of town. I then sent her a message to say I wouldn’t make it back as I had my 13yo daughter with me and she wasn’t feeling well and I didn’t want to have to go back. I put down a deposit of $100 and now cannot get this back only in the form of a voucher. I know this is their policy but it is extremely frustrating when you are looking forward to receive a tattoo, especially after being on a wait list then only to … 1. Not get it due to delays in service 2. Only get your money back in the form of a voucher for the hair salon or cafe. $100 is a lot of money these days and especially as a single parent. Policies like this need to have special considerations.
I have been to see Veronica twice now, first for a coverup and second for an add on and both times she has been professional and has done amazing high quality tattoos. She gave me some great ideas and we were able to piece together exactly what I was after. Cannot wait to come back for more!!
I have had well over 10 tattoos from Ty, she is one of my favorite artists in the country and cant wait to add more to the collection :))
