   Rude old fart, I was nothing but polite to him and it seemed as if cutting my hair was the last thing he wanted to do. He then proceeded to try and charge me $35 even though it is advertised as $30. I then asked him why and he said “because my hair was bushy”, which it really wasn’t ( it took him less than 10 minutes) so I told him I’m not paying an extra $5 when it was such a short haircut, he then said very angrily “fine, you can pay $30 if it makes you happy”, so that’s exactly what I did

   Jeff has been cutting my hair for over 30 years now. He's friendly and always good for a chat, often sport related (rugby, cricket, sailing). His prices are very good ($25 for a dry cut) and there's often no wait. Recommended!

   I'd leave half a star if I could. This fella's work is on a similar level to the state of his barbershop (dirty/unruly). He was done surprisingly quickly with my cut and beard trim, and it was patchy and uneven. His grumpy/rude attitude left a bad impression, but that could easily be forgiven if his work was up to scratch. I went to a different barber the next day (Wass' barbershop) and the guy there spent an hour fixing everything up, and did the work to an extremely high standard. I ended up tipping him an extra $20 for the job. I'd stay well clear of Jeff O'Leary if you're not one of his regulars and you expect a professional job. He should strongly consider hanging up his scissors for good. The only positive thing about his service was the cheap price ($30 odd), but I wouldn't go back even if it was free. That's how poor his job was. Embarrassing, really. Zero pride in his work. Cheers.

   I've been going to Jeff for years and always feel like Dapper Dan after my haircut. And the banter whilst there is always enjoyable. I have just read the one star review posted 3 weeks ago. I was actually there for the whole conversation between Jeff and the reviewer. Jeff was polite and perfectly within his rights to decline to cut the reviewer's hair. It was a bit of a tense moment but Jeff stood his ground in a respectful manner, and for that, I applaud him.

   Have been a customer for the past 4 years but have been illegally turned away from this business for not wearing a mask even though I have a valid mask exemption and a negative rat test. Not going to be going back. So if like me you have valid health related exemption stay clear.
