I think these guys are great. Hard to find someone capable of stereo repairs in the Waikato. These guys might be the only ones.

Our family's tv failed while still under warranty. Tisco were contracted by the manufacturer to investigate, to diagnose the problem and carry out repairs. They made initial contact within the timeframe given to us by the manufacturer, arrived at the house as arranged, quickly assessed that the tv required workshop attention and installed a manufacturer's loan tv in the interim. The repaired tv was returned in a short period of time, and is working well. We really appreciate the Tisco service we received, and can thoroughly recommend this company.

I wish I could give a higher rating but my experience points otherwise. My 4 year old Sony TV was giving a 6 flash error code, upon a little research I found it means LCD panel failure. When I contacted Tisco I explained the fault and said I only want to go ahead if there's either any chance of progress with CGA or if parts were available to repair the fault. I was told Sony were great to deal with and was sure there would be some resolve. After paying a few hundred they took the tv, then told me it had an LCD panel failure and nothing could be done. They then wanted to charge Xtra to return the unit, despite the shonky invoice that already included a pickup and additional return fee on it. Communication was atrocious, and the service and support for customers was sub par. After blowing hundreds with these guys Sony offered a very fair price for a replaceable TV due to early failure. It's a shame a service centre like this is willing to take money from consumers and offer no support or assistance in return. Most disappointed

They DO NOT repair circuit boards as stated in their advertising. Basically told me to buy new. Poor customer service. when asked for any recommendations of where I CAN get a repair made, was totally unhelpful and rude.

Very disappointed. One star is too good for this experience. My wife unplugged the power to her computer monitor and the socket which was attached to the internal circuit board came with it. So we took it to Tisco at 77 King St, Frankton, Hamilton for repair. Paid the $65 for assessment fees and on-site cost. After a wait period for the technician I showed him the problem where the part had detached. After a week with no word I rang them for an update. They said they’d get back to me, which they did the next day with bad news. They told me the circuit board was broken and they could order a new one at a cost of just over $130. I made the decision not to go ahead as new monitor is approximately $240 (uneconomic) So I got my wife to pick it up from them. Not being an electronics expert or anything I thought I’d take the back off it and have a look at the damage. Amazingly I found no crack in the circuit board like I was lead to believe, just the stubs where the power socket was attached. The part they needed to replace I’m sure would’ve cost very little and would just need to be soldered in. I noted the power from the cord was 14v dc at 25w (about as safe a changing torch batteries). So with that I thought I’d try fixing it myself. I soldered on 2 wires to the circuit board, then purchased a small dc plug & socket from Jaycar for $5.50 so my wife could still have the ability to disconnect the monitor. After some soldering practice it was fixed. To my delight the monitor worked perfectly! I went back to Tisco and politely asked some questions (without any emotion). I asked why they couldn’t fix it and if I could get a refund. There was a range of unconvincing excuses and that they couldn’t give a refund on the $65. Apparently they had to do research......really....... I gave them the opportunity to put things right, but I was met with BS. There is no reason why they couldn’t have done a simple fix within the price of the $65. Let’s face it, they could’ve fixed it in a few minutes and made approximately $45 profit and I would’ve been happy. But no, they wanted to screw a total of $195+ out of me for a simple 10 minute job. It seems like their main objective is to get as much money out of the customer as possible with a distant secondary objective of fixing the item. A little bit of honesty would’ve been appreciated. I went away with a feeling of being lied to and cheated. I will never go there again.
