   The security guy at the entrance/exit needs to do better at Kmart 3/01 around 2pm, just because we look different, could clearly see how you treated other customers who did not appear like us. If you don’t like customer service and aren’t happy with people look for something else. Kmart, do you keep them to make people feel bad about themselves?

   Papanui Kmart is the worst place i ever visited. Had an item to return with bill and wanted to buy something else. The staff at the counter asked my bank card. Unfortunately it was not with me and i asked for a credit note. The girl refused and said if i want the refund i need to bring it back. I went second time with my bank card. Have to wait in the line for another 10 minutes, ask if it is a gift how can i provide a bank card. She said if so, i need to bring the copy of the purchaser's bank card or at least last four digits. Sounds so crazy... should not buy gifts for others for sure.

   Was in Kmart this evening (6/10/2025) and a worker came towards my friend and I are accused us of opening beauty products which was far from what we were doing. She made us feel like we were teenagers opening and making a mess outta the place. She then continued to just stand and watch us when we were looking at other things and gave us the side eye when we had left the aisle. We took the hard lid off a moisturer to smell it (it had a plastic seal on it so we couldn’t smell it anyways) but we weren’t expecting to get yelled at by someone, a simple polite statement would have been nice not a full on scream like I’m doing something illegal.

   I found someone's wallet, I gave it to the lady at reception asked her to call the name of the owner of the wallet in the speaker,(name was in the wallet driver license) she said yes all good,when I'm leaving I told the security person a maori lady on her 45 year old that I didn't hear anyone calling the person to come get her wallet,then she very rude told me "don't worry about it,forget about it" I said what do you mean? I want the person to find her wallet then in a very rude sarcastic way she told to leave, that person should not be working in custmer service, for people like you people generalize and think all maori are uneducated and disrespectful,If I was a person that would just walk away with someone's wallet and money you'd do nothing and not care at all, that's not acceptable in this society and I believe it is not the kiwi way,shame on you I hope k mart look into this and do the right thing,you can't have a security person that doesn't care at all about people stealing stuff

   I went to kmart earlier this evening and left in tears; I got accused of stealing pens which this teenager worker had to bring to the manager and she cornered me. It was so humiliating as I would never ever steal and was actually on my way to buy some pens! Very disappointed in the customer service do not feel welcome to come back. Would give zero stars if possible

   Totally disgusted with the lack of customer service. I have been trying for nearly an hour this morning to get through to both Papanui and Riccarton stores, trying all the selections and no one will pick up the phone, they cannot be that busy?, surely. I purchased a product that is broken and needs replacing. I luce out if town so not a quick trip in to replace.

   The stock is great at the moment. Shelves are really full which is awesome. Too many cages full of stock down alot of isles which makes it hard to get to products. Older lady up the front is very grumpy and rude to customers. 3 times I've been in and over heard how she talks to people. I work in customer services and know that customers can get needy and rude and that's not cool, but I think she needs a holiday. Would hate to work with her. On a lighter note please be kind to staff, they just work there, customers also need to fold shiz up and put it back tidily and how it's found rather then dumping anywhere and making more of a mess. Great parking. Very strange how checkouts and services are in the middle of the store. Always a long line to pay.

   Just another Kmart, however the stock levels and store are generally kept in a better condition than the Riccarton branch. The older man doing door security was very kind and nice to chat to. Had to do a return and the checkout staff were super friendly and nice to deal with. Keep up the good work Kmart Papanui!

   Don’t get me wrong Kmart is great. But the procedures and staff borderline on useless. Drove across town to get a product that was in stock, asked and the staff member said she had been looking for them the other day but there was none. Instead of updating the stock, nothing was done. She said Riccarton had some showing but it shouldn’t be trusted and I should call. But agreed no one would likely pick up the phone. What a joke for a big store like that. Frustrating because Kmart does what they do well…..
