The campus makes you fall in love with every season in NZ. It has thoughtful, user-friendly designs, great infrastructure, friendly staff, plenty of parking spots and sports facilities. Great place for healing your inner self in the nature or just enjoying the daily life.
As a Māori living here in Aotearoa, I was deeply moved by the level of care, respect, and genuine hospitality I received. It wasn’t just good customer service it was manaakitanga in action. From the moment I walked through the door, I was welcomed warmly, with smiles and kindness that made me feel right at home. What really stood out to me was how accommodating and understanding everyone was. They took the time to listen, to connect, and to make sure my needs were met in a way that felt personal and meaningful. There was a real sense of whanaungatanga a connection that went beyond a simple transaction. It felt like they cared not just about my business, but about me as a person and as tangata whenua. It’s rare to experience service where cultural awareness and genuine respect are woven so naturally into everything they do. They were considerate, patient, and always went the extra mile to ensure everything was just right. Whether it was helping with specific requests, explaining things clearly, or just checking in to see if I was comfortable, their approach was consistently warm and thoughtful. Living in New Zealand, it’s wonderful to see businesses embracing inclusivity and showing such deep appreciation for Māori values and culture. You can feel it in the way they greet you, the way they speak, and the way they take care of their customers. It’s not forced or superficial – it’s heartfelt, and it reflects the true spirit of Aotearoa. I left feeling uplifted, respected, and grateful. Experiences like this remind me of how special our communities are when we lead with kindness and understanding. If you’re looking for a place or service where you’ll be treated with genuine warmth, respect, and care, I couldn’t recommend them more highly. Personally, I loved the Uni enough to get three degrees there. And recently based our company in the new Hiko Hub commercial innovation space on campus.
The University of Waikato in Hamilton is a beautiful university with lush greenery and serene lakes, creating a peaceful environment. The university accommodation is comfortable and community focused.

Be warned! You might sign up for a programme only to being told afterwards, on short notice that the mandatory (!) papers have been cancelled. Especially “fun” if you already paid for the first trimester and then you can’t continue your studies!
Was there at student enrolment centre, needed some information, Andreas Isaza, provided all the information in a calm manner, made us feel comfortable talking to him, didn’t rush. Such a nice person to deal with.
A beautiful part of Hamilton City with a wide range of courses on offer. The UoW campus has blended in perfectly with the community and acts as a great spot for a scenic walk, run, or workout!
Nice place to go for a walk and look at nice artwork and grounds with nice gardens and ponds.
