Waited in the fuel line for half an hour tonight only to be told no I cannot put fuel in at 20:55. I was literally next in line to get fuel and if granted the time to be do fuel till 21:00 (which I believe is your closing time) I would have been able to fill up and be on my way. Disappointed. NPD next time to lose out on $2 saving and save a ton of time.

With food prices going up in NZ, it’s nice to have a supermarket where you are able to get some foods at a cheaper price compared to elsewhere. The only thing we noticed that’s changed is that the fuel vouchers you receive is limited to being used at that specific pak n save location

Getting too expensive with some items which are now surprisingly cheaper at Countdown. Not the best or cheapest shopping experience it once was and bakery selection repetitive with no variety. Feel ripped off with lack of Deli and prepacked meats, salads etc at high prices with usually no best by dates. Pays to shop around as not the cheapest place anymore. Have purchased some items cheaper at dairy.

★★★★★ Fantastic One-Stop Shop with Amazing Variety! Pak'nSave Papamoa is hands-down my go-to supermarket in Tauranga! From the moment I walked in, the friendly team at the Lotto counter and checkout operations made me feel welcome—their efficiency and cheerful service really stood out. The freshly cut meats section is a highlight—great quality, well-priced, and always neatly displayed. The bakery department smells heavenly, with fresh bread and treats that are hard to resist. For bulk groceries, this place nails it! Whether stocking up on pantry staples or grabbing fresh produce (which is consistently crisp and vibrant), they’ve got everything covered. I also love their specialty dairy and milk products—perfect for families or anyone looking for local favorites. The store itself is clean, modern, and surprisingly spacious, making shopping stress-free even during busy hours. Plus, the huge parking area is a game-changer—no circling around for a spot! Highly recommend Pak'nSave Papamoa for unbeatable variety, value, and a hassle-free experience. Keep up the great work!

I like the store, its welcoming for the ever growing communities area, its strange that its not what the likes of would have been used to pre millennia and the carpark is great but seems so blimin tight to get your waka in especially when it comes crowded. But can you please supply some rough as guts soap for the local spanner spinners and some different flavour sorbet for the lactose intolerant sweetest thanks for my opinionated blogs

Nice tidy store. Steady flow of customers when we visited and got through checkouts with ease. Love the doors on the chilled dept. However for 530ish in the afternoon the Deli chicken hutch was fairly low with little choices for a quick dinner. Overall the store is really nice.

Very busy as usual and car parking available. They are the only supermarket where I can find Griffins digestive biscuits but were low on supply last time I was there. Fairly good prices. Don't forget your own bags to pack your groceries yourself.

THE WORST SUPERMARKET IN NEW ZEALAND. Extremely messy ! Empty shelves everywhere ! Extremely unorganized ! Heaps of overpriced items ! Extremely poor customer service ! Some items aren't put back on the shelves for days even if you can see them available on the overhead shelves ! Prices at checkout do not match labelled prices in store (you tell them, come back days later and same problem occurs on the same items) ! Some extraordinarily rude staff straight-up telling you off because they want the trolley positioned a special way but they could ask politely instead (few staff are lovely though) ! I only go because I live next to it (the management knows that) but every time I need to go to Tauranga or Tauriko, I make sure to shop at these other Pak'n'save as they are managed properly. I can't wait for more competition to enter the NZ market to break this terrible duopole (FoodStuffs + Woolworths) that costs Kiwi families 100s of dollars every year over abusive pricing that should have been monitored and fought properly by the authorities long ago. It just takes a few travels overseas to see how bad the situation is.
