A lot of items we wanted were out of stock when we visited, in all fairness it was NY's eve. But i feel like a supermarket should be aware of times of year and be prepared. Staple items like milk and certain fruits and veges should be fully stocked, not just have the small expensive range available.

I don’t know why but this is the only Supermarket where I get electric shocks of the trolleys, shelves etc every time, and doesn’t matter what shoes or clothes as I have tried different ones. Even the checkout lady said a lot of people do, the last stock was a big one from the checkout, really puts me off going back and even more so when the staff know it’s happening.

Ok I'm not happy. I looked online for the best deal in Tauranga for washing liquid detergent. Found on google it was Pak save, Tauriko. They had Earthwise 4ltr. Orange and Eucalyptus for $10.99. I checked Papamoa's location, this item was only available in tauriko. So I got in the car, immediately, and decided NOT to do click and collect.. as I wanted this exact item, not a substitute. Their website said it was in stock.. I was planning on buying 4.. no limit was stated.. I drove 25 minutes. Got in store saw the item, loaded it in my trolley, proceeded to self check out, and it was not on sale.. Checkout staff where amazing, very helpful, and directed me to manager.. Manager who was in charge, said NO they refuse to honour that special, they didn't even come out of the office, they sent the jr manager out.. Now I was buying 4 , and ended up doing the second deal of 3.8ltr, 3 in 1. In total I missed out on the enzyme action on all 4, plus another .8ltrs of detergent.. and and hour of gas to and from.. I was told I must have been looking yesterday.. No, I looked this afternoon and headed straight in.. I don't think I was believed. I was told I don't know how to update my phone, app.. I actually do. I am a medical director, and statistical analyst. Hence why I went across town for the deal.. I was extremely disappointed, as I was given no reason except I was too late, I should have come early, and in the time it took me to drive, the deal was removed.. So from1:30pm Saturday to 2:15 Saturday they refused to honour their website, and refused to offer a valid explanation.. and the staff outside the office, where confused as well.. they said Manager has finally decision. I showed them the last pic on google, and they insisted I had it wrong.. I could pay the $21.99 or leave..

Staff are generally quite nice and helpful. Fish counter staff varies. Products - good variety and ok prices. Same frustration as another reviewer re lack of paper bags for fruit and veg.

Be aware of their meats, they are a rip off. Bought a pork belly there and they had packaged it with the sides folded over so once opened out of the packet revealed rib bones... making up about half the thickness. What belly has bone in it anyway? What dishonest rip offs you lot are. If I wanted bones I'd buy some

Not the greatest supermarket in the world but definitely the greatest PaknSave supermarket I have visited. Well managed, fully packed shelves, proper fishery corner, proper butchery corner. I tend to find cheaper prices here than couple other PaknSave in the region. Some staff are very friendly. And just 1000x better than the horrible PakNSave in Papamoa.

Always nice to shop here, food and items are always well stocked. Good variety and reasonable pricing, considering the price hikes this year. Staff are friendly.

This afternoon at approx 4.30 pm I’ve experienced a truly terrible customer service situation at this supermarket.I had purchased a 24 pack of Heineken, and when I placed the box on the checkout counter, the operator rudely instructed me to put it in the shopping trolley In front of me instead. Even though I'm three months pregnant, I complied, having to tiptoe and stretch over the cart's handle to reach its bottom. I asked her, somewhat sarcastically, if she'd like me to continue doing her job for her. The checkout operator, Mandeep, responded with an insolent "go for it." When I asked the person responsible for approving the alcohol purchase ,I presume was the checkout supervisor whether this was normal procedure, expressing my unhappiness with it, he completely ignored me. Everyone should know that this kind of action constitutes a health and safety hazard. The proper way to place a heavy item in a shopping trolley is from the lower sides to avoid potential injury. Instead of acknowledging her rudeness Mandeep just began tossing my groceries into the cart with disregard, placing heavy items on top of delicate ones like bread and chips, as evidenced by the attached photo. I chose not to say anything further to avoid causing a scene. I later asked the same supervisor for the store manager's name and business card so I can make a formal complaint but he casually told me that he didn't have one as the store manager was new. He then directed me to go outside as the new manager was by the trolley bay and referred to him as that “old guy” with glasses. This whole encounter left me speechless. Despite usually traveling from Papamoa to this shop because of their superior product variety, I've decided that this will be the last time I do so.
