   Admittedly I have a 1999 vehicle, a bit old I admit, which has a performance issue at the low end of the rev range. I was assured by Shayne that Josiah would get to the bottom of the problem, the best mechanic in Tauranga I was told and when you speak with Josiah he does appear to know his stuff. After lots of checks had been carried out I was told what "wasn't" causing the problem but not 'was" causing the problem? Josiah got it narrowed down to 2 parts but couldn't help any further, the vehicle is told old and it's difficult get parts for. Now it's back to me to me to deal with. Cost me just under $1300 and I still have the same problem I had before I took it in to Automotive Solutions Greeton.. I'm not a happy chappy....

   Booked my Mk6 Golf in to get its intake manifolds walnut blasted to remove carbon build up and sort out the rough and ugly misfiring cold starts I was having. Shayne got me in same day and even sorted out the other smaller issues I had as well (bad sensor and water pump leak). Pretty quick turnaround and upfront about cost of parts, courtesy cars available. Car starts, sounds and runs so much smoother and nicer, feels so much better to drive. Recommended for Golf owners, you’ll be amazed at the crap built up in there.

   Rude on the phone. Just asked for a quote for a oil change to possibly get done with them and the person on the phone told me that they can't do anything then hung up phone

   It is not recommended that I take my Honda to have it checked and they said that I had to change my radiator and the price they gave me was 900-1000 and I went to another place and they gave me a price of 550 half the price for the same service, apart from the fact that they made me wait almost 2 hours

   A lazy, rude and arrogant mechanic. Defensive and argumentative... unprofessional... I had my car 'serviced' last week, unfortunately I trusted that Shayne would give me a fair price and didn't check before I dropped it off. No price was forthcoming from Shayne at any stage and I didn't receive a phone call to state what it might cost during the service. My car is a 6year old hatchback, and I was expecting a $250 service with a wheel alignment/balance. I received the bill for a 'A' service and $869! When I registered my surprise and upset at the cost, Shayne had no compassion and said he 'wasn't a bank' and that I had to pay in full before I could take the vehicle. The consumer guarantees act states you cant keep someones car without their paying a fair price, I wasnt offered a choice and was forced to pay a high price in order to take my car away - thats illegal to force payment that isnt agreed on. I consider this totally unethical. I feel that Shayne considered what he could get away with in pricing my vehicle. He said prices have gone up across the board and he fitted my service in the next day from my phone call - which I consider to mean he is extremely quiet and desperate for work and money. Warning - get a fixed price before you complete work on your vehicle - or consider someone else. Even after this "A" grade service my brakes are squeaking (after his brake fluid flush (no brake service obviously) and the steering feels no better... I wonder how much has been done... The worst experience of my life with a mechanic
