   We rented the 2+1 campervan for 15 days and it was honestly great for our trip! We did a ton of research before coming to NZ and saw so many horror stories about vans breaking down, so we were very nervous and uncertain… but our van had zero issues the whole way. I believe the staff mentioned that we were allocated a brand new vehicle and hence we were the first hire of it. Check-in was smooth too, the staff gave us a really detailed briefing and walkthrough, answered all our questions, and made us feel really confident before we hit the road. Overall it was a very good experience and I would definitely rent from them again.

   Can I give less than one star? Although the motor home got us through our holiday we had many problems. A hatch lock broke due to wear and tear which we had to pay out of pocket to fix, the Velcro around the curtain let go all the time, the back bed could not be let down all the way, the reversing camera didn’t work, the shower door opened around corners, the fridge opened and spilled food out frequently, the ladder to the bunk was almost broken, we needed to replace the battery on the key remote, a service warning came up half way through our trip. I spoke to the owner, Maryanne, to discuss the money we had to pay out of pocket to have an emergency repair done on the latch to keep our belongs safe and she did not care and refused any recompense or even a conversation and became obnoxious and belligerent. This camper was chosen for its supposed premium layout and we paid a premium price for this. I would not recommend this company to anyone. This was our wedding and honeymoon and we were left with a bad taste at the end.

   We just returned our campervan to Pacific Horizon which we rented from them for three weeks and wow, what a great company! The campervan was in amazing condition, the lovely staff give you a full run-down on how everything in the van works (and happily answer all your silly questions). When one of the tires on our van was punctured, Debs and Maryanne were extremely helpful they had us booked in for a tyre change in less than half an hour! Really makes a different renting from a small family run business, will definitely rent from Pacific again! :)

   Hired the 6 berth SAM premium but due to some incident had to downgrade it to the 2018 SAM. Was a bit worried that the vehicle will be old. Boy was I wrong. It was well maintained and easy to drive. We drove 2700km with no issue or breakdown. A shout out to Michelle as well. Had great experience from the pickup at the airport to send off. If I were to come back to nz would definitely use Pacific Horizon again The team at the head office were also great. They answered all my questions efficiently and patiently and on top of that provide very good suggestions on things that are useful to have in a motorhome
