Initially, I communicated with the boss of the shop regarding cam dialling. Despite his initial busyness, he eventually agreed to fit me in for Friday, as I mentioned I would source elsewhere if need be, to fulfil my requirements. However, upon my visit on Wednesday, his demeanor seemed condescending, as stated by his "42 years of experience". Despite promises, the work remained undone by Friday, leading to further delays and unfulfilled assurances. Mention of staffing issues due to Covid seemed to serve as an excuse rather than a legitimate explanation, highlighting a lack of transparency. Along side awaiting for car parts (which would ultimately free up time for less intensive projects like cam dialling). Furthermore, accusations made by him during our conversations were unfounded and only exacerbated the situation. While ultimately there was no charge for the service (although nothing was done), the overall experience was marred by rudeness and inconsistency. Subsequent discussions with others revealed similar encounters with the proprietor. I cannot recommend this establishment. It's essential to exercise caution and thorough research before engaging with this company, as evidenced by existing negative feedback.
I have been bringing my vehicle to this mechanics since 2021 for my regular vehicle maintenance, wofs etc.. However, my most recent service was a shocker. Was advised of a catalyst efficiency code, as my check engine light was on and that it needed to be βfixedβ old mate verbally quoted me on the day roughly what it would cost to repair. Took my vehicle to another mechanic for a second opinion based on the findings these mechanics listed on my invoice sheet and a thorough check over my vehicle, only to find that nothing listed on the invoice needs work done. They couldnβt find an issue with a converter or something that old mate said needed to be replaced. Or any issues. Old mates tried to rip me off and failed. I wouldnβt bring my vehicle or suggest this place to anyone. The guy on the phone I spoke to was a bit slow to understand what I was telling him. Maybe shocked that I took my vehicle to another mechanics to look over what they βfoundβ He also said to go in and see his boss and when I asked if he could get him to ring me he said his boss wonβt, and that he takes ages to do so or forgets. Reaaal professional.
Working on a clients car who had work done by these guys. Claimed to have got the car running on a base map which was absolutely abysmal with over half the ignition map being in vacuum far beyond what the car would ever see. The fuel pump install was dangerous and leaking and the general wiring was amateur at best. The price charged was completely inconsistent with the very little and poor quality work that had been done.
Thank you for an amazing job on my car, what an awesome team. I highly recommend Tuning & Performance due to them going above and beyond what I asked for within reason, great price and most importantly a thorough explanation of their work. It's hard to find a trust worthy mechanic in Hamilton.
