I rushed into the store to buy a small item before closing time, but the two female staff members were rude and unwilling to help me find the right product. I understand the store was about to close, but my purchase would have been very quick. Their attitude made it clear they didn’t want to assist me and just wanted me to leave. I wasn’t given a chance to speak and was simply told the till was closed, making me feel unwelcome. I left the store and checked my phone—it was only two minutes past 6. I’ve always believed Japanese customer service is among the best, but this experience was very disappointing. I shop at this store often, even though it’s more expensive than other Asian stores, because of its convenient location. However, after this experience, I’ll choose the Asian stores near Church Corner instead, where the service is much friendlier.

I messed up and bought the wrong hair dye. When I realized and went back to the store to exchange it, they showed me this wonky sign saying they've got a no-refund policy, so they totally said no and no exchange it either. This is the first time I've come across something like this in NZ. Gotta be careful when shopping!!!’

They have lots of stuff selling. Especially like the department selling past best date, which is considering cheaper than normal price, for those who don't really care about the date can buy it. They have lots of stuff like snacks, frozen food, seasoning sauce, japanese rice wine and some stationary or daily use products. They even sell ceramic plate and bowl with only 3 dollars. Will definitely come back again.

One of my favourite places for international snacks and treats. Tasty and affordable Japanese food and ingredients for cooking delicious meals. The staff are all lovely and make the shopping atmosphere so much happier. Definitely recommend going in and giving your tastebuds an overseas experience of treats.

Good selection of Japanese products. A lot of snacks and confectionery as well as frozen food, personal items as well as Japanese alcohol and home/kitchen items. Most of the confectionary and snacks have considerable markup, which is understandable considering they are not daily items and are “luxuries”. Friendly staff and organized and clean store. Highly recommended if you are just craving some good ole Calbee のりしお chips.

Amazing Japanese store, equivalent version/size of kosco and sunson. Products range from food and drink to cosmetic products and homeware. Price on the higher end. Friendly staff, well organised store and isles, ample parking outside with family friendly parking space.
