   G&E Dental were absolutely fabulous. I was driving to Christchurch in complete pain and couldn’t get an appointment anywhere in my local town (Greymouth). I rang while I was on the road and told them I was already in Springfield — they fitted me in straight away. About an hour and a half later, the procedure was done and I recovered really well. I honestly can’t thank them enough. Such a friendly, caring team, and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommend

   I visited Dr Alister Moore on 12/12/2025 at 9.40 at G & E Dental for severe pain from a wisdom tooth. After two X-rays, I was only given antibiotics. When I asked if the tooth needed to be removed, he said he couldn’t see the X-ray at the back and asked me to call later if I wanted extraction. I came in with pain affecting my eating and sleeping but did not get a clear treatment plan or extraction. Disappointed with the consultation.

   Avoid at all cost. Was sceptical about all the recent negative revies, but I think they are justified. Gone in for a consult worried that I might have a chipped/broken tooth. X-ray taken and told it was fine. Had other procedure done since I'm already there. The chip came off with flossing about four weeks later. Spoke to manager and expressed concerns. Only to be told to pay for another consultation to get it looked at again...

   The dentist’s skills are good — but I’m giving three stars due to the billing issue. The dental procedure itself was fine. The dentist did the job, and the filling was successful. However, I have to be honest about one part of the experience that I found quite unreasonable — the way they handled and charged for X-rays. On June 29th, I visited another clinic for a consultation and an X-ray. They advised me to get a filling and helped me book a treatment appointment for July 1st. But since the pain became unbearable, I wanted to get it treated sooner. G&E was able to fit me in on June 30th, so I rescheduled and went there instead. Before my visit, I specifically called and asked: I had just done an X-ray the day before — can they use that instead of doing a new one? I was told yes, there would be no need for another X-ray. That’s why I proceeded with the appointment. However, once I arrived, the dentist looked at the X-ray I provided and said, “just to be safe,” they would take a new one. After the filling, they took another one to “check the result.” In the end, they took other X-rays on same tooths and charged me $60 for them. What I don’t understand is: I had clearly confirmed in advance that a new X-ray wouldn’t be necessary. And yet, they went ahead and took two — each one charged separately. In my experience with other clinics, they usually only take one X-ray, or they’ll accept a recent one provided by the patient, or at the very least, only charge for a single image even if pre- and post-treatment images are taken of the same tooth. To me, this billing approach seems excessive and unfair — even misleading. If you care about pricing transparency, especially around extras like X-rays, I’d recommend being cautious and asking very clearly in advance. All that — just to squeeze out an extra $60 — really feels like a loss for everyone involved. That’s the reality of what happened. I’ll leave it to others to judge for themselves.

   I had a great experience with Jay today, they fit me in with half an hours notice very late on a Saturday afternoon. Jay was incredibly kind, gentle and explained everything he was doing very clearly. They’ve done a great job repairing a tricky tooth and a great price.

   I visited G&E dental after not being able to get an appointment with my own dentist. As it was an emergency slot so had to wait an hour or so but the nurse (apologies I can't remember her name) kept me company and gave me many laughs during the entire wait. Extraction was very quick and painless. Would go back for sure

   Absolutely livid! Partner had a chipped tooth and went in on March 8 and was told it was emergent and needed to be surgically removed, which meant it wasn't going to be $40 under csc card which we have... He has waited as we didn't have the funds to cover the surgical removal and as it turned we went to ring around to see who had free spots and could do it under the csc card, found another dentist and they said it didn't need to be surgically removed at all and means he has suffered discomfort and pain due them being absolutely useless in there profession and money hungry as a business!

   I was able to get an appointment at the Rangiora Branch with Alister within 2 days of trying to book and this wasn't a emergency appointment. Alister was very gentle and effective in his dental work. Spoke to me throughout the process and was checking up on me throughout the procedure. It was lovely to receive a call from g&e three days after my extraction to make sure I was coping well, it was a lengthy extraction and I was offered a script for pain relief, the healing process was faster than expected and I didn't get a dry socket. I will be recommending to any of my friends and family who need general or emergency dentistry services. Keep up the good work.

   I used G & E dental for the first time for emergency dental treatment. I phoned up on a Friday afternoon and got an appointment the very next day. I arrived for the appointment in good time and was immediately made to feel welcome. I was seen on time by Suman who was very professional giving good options for treatment. All the staff were kind and respectful and I will certainly use them again. All in all a five star experience!
