Today I went to Ormiston Fresh and bought 1.614 kg of beef brisket for a total of $35.49. Since the price is $21.99 per kg, I assumed the price must be correct. I only wanted to use the lean meat, so I trimmed off all the fat attached to the brisket. The amount of meat was much smaller than I expected, so I weighed the lean meat and the fat separately. The lean meat was 948 g and the fat was 296 g, making the total weight 1,244 g. I didn’t throw anything away, but compared to what I paid for, 370 g is missing. This is a place I go to often and used to like, so I’m extremely disappointed. I won’t buy meat from here again.
