Have been a patient of this practice since it was set up 14 years ago, and even though I am in my 80s and now live 25 minutes drive away, I wouldn't want to go anyway else. Lovely, friendly, caring service.
Very frustrated with my recent appointment. I've previously been prescribed HRT without issue, but now I'm being told I cannot continue my prescription unless I have a mammogram - despite having just had an ultrasound that came back clear. I should be able to make informed decisions about my own healthcare, especially when it comes to mammograms and the concerns about their risks versus benefits. This experience has left me feeling like patient choice and autonomy aren't respected here.
I recently experienced a serious health concern that needed hospitalisation. My care from Dr Fiona Kerr and NP Gemma was exceptional. I’ve never had so much consistent care, follow-up and kindness from a Doctors Clinic that I’ve been enrolled with in my life. I will be forever grateful and forever recommending Medplus Lake Road as a place of genuine care. Every employee there has shown so much warmth and compassion to me over the years, thank you to you all. Big aroha!
Visited clinic today with 2 young kids. Christina wasn't pleasant at all - must have had a bad day - she seemed stressed and understand she was curt with me but she was being a 1940s school teacher with my 5 year old in asking him to wear a mask. He absolutly said NO as he hadn't had the time to process it as he was coughing. Then she said you may go outside to the kid. Absolutely not acceptable. I didn't say anything to her as kids watch parents and learn habits. If she can't seem to cope with her job she should step back n let the powers to be know and not take it out on patients and especially kids. We were there around 4.40pm on the 27th Aug.
Utterly unacceptable service. I have been in significant pain while attempting to access prescribed medication, and the repeated failures by MedPlus to respond appropriately are inexcusable. I first contacted the clinic on Monday at 9:30 AM and was told I would receive a text. No message ever arrived. By Tuesday afternoon, I had to call again. I was given the same assurance — and once again, no text was sent. By Wednesday afternoon, after a third call regarding the exact same issue, I finally received a delayed message stating my request had been passed on to my GP and was being "processed." Since then: radio silence. By Thursday midday, I made my fourth call. I left a message and finally received a text stating I now need to book an appointment with my GP in order to get the script — something that should have been communicated upfront. When I tried to book the appointment, I waited 15 minutes to reach an operator, only to be told the earliest available slot is Monday. That means I will have spent nearly a full week in pain, and on top of that, I’ll be charged $75 for an appointment that only became necessary due to repeated failures on MedPlus’s part. You are dealing with people in pain. This level of inefficiency, poor communication, and lack of urgency is completely unacceptable for a healthcare provider.
Just when I had found the right doctor for me, she moved.. so changes in doctors and hours has made things a little challenging in holistic care. However friendly staff at reception has not changed. I was able to see doctor on same day of request, but the hefty fees may have something to do with that. Sadly, for this registered member, it may be time to shop around too. Location, on-site pharmacy and parking at door is convenient. Doctors are mix of young and experienced with good M:F. REMEMBER to check location of visit as they are in Hauraki And Devonport.
The absolute best Medical centre with passionate staff who go above and beyond! When you walk through the door, you are quickly greeted with a warm and friendly smile from one of the receptionists. The service is always very quick. Jean is the most understanding GP. After being dissatisfied with my last GP, and always walking out of an appointment feeling like I had not been listened to, I decided to change to Medplus, after Jean was highly recommended to me. Jean is so kind, compassionate, and always gets things seen to promptly. She is very knowledgeable and takes the time to make sure that her patients feel heard. I always look forward to seeing her. The nurses are all so kindhearted and caring, too. When my son has needed his immunizations, or to be seen by a nurse, they have always made sure that he is happy and comfortable. Gemma and Pippa are so skilled and also possess this same empathy. Recently, my son was quite ill, and Pippa ended up calling me after her shift had ended, and over the weekend when she was not rostered to work, to check how my boy was doing. She really went the extra mile, and it is the little things like this that really mean so much. I am so happy that I chose Medplus as my GP, and I couldn't have chosen a better practice to care for mine and my family-friendly health needs.
Too many disappointments from this place mainly dealing with my kids. I keep giving them the benefit of the doubt but just get let down probably 75% of the time being a customer/patient here. I guess my family of 5 as enrolled patients keeps getting the more negative side of this clinic.
Excellent doctors, nurses and the rest of the staff are very friendly and always professional. They make you feel very well cared for and you can easily manage your own bookings, check your lab results, and even read the doctor's notes.
