I moved from New Zealand to Australia. When my cube arrived, I called the company to arrange delivery, but the experience was very disappointing. The staff told me: 1. They can’t guarantee the delivery time. 2. They can’t match my preferred hours. 3. They don’t deliver on weekends. 4. They only drop off the items, won’t handle any furniture. 5. They don’t provide any labour options. This means I have to take a full day off work and find someone to help me unload everything myself. When I explained my concern, the staff just said “I understand” — no help or solution offered at all. Very poor customer service and zero flexibility. Definitely not what I expected after paying for an international move.

These people stink. I kept receiving small invoices for various "fees", and each time I called to inquire what the fees was for I was on hold for at least 30 minutes. They waived most of the fees, but I'm still not sure what the fees I wound up paying were for. Also, look at the terms and conditions of the insurance. Why would you ever get the basic insurance?

I wanted to send my stuff from AU to NZ. The AU staff were very helpful and efficient. However, after the shipment arrived in NZ, no documentation or emails or any notifications letting me know that I have to set up a delivery time. I was waiting them to send to me, but nothing after a week, so I called them. Then they told me that I have to book a date for delivery… Then, I told them a date. But, they told me that Seavenseas doesn’t do delivery, they will have a 3rd party to do it… I trusted them (as they wrote on their website or documentation that it’s a door to door service, which, from reading the information, it’s “Seven Seas”. However, it’s not…). They should specify that on the website and in the documents! Or at least tell me that it’s not delivered by SevenSeas beforehand. But Nothing! What’s more disappointed is that the delivery date was not the date that I booked! I am not at home today or tmr. I don’t know who signed the shipment for me… I’m so worried… if you can’t deliver them on the date I wanted, then, why did you ask me to book a date for delivery???? When I rang you guys. Ridiculous!! I’m not going to use this company again.

Before I begin this review, let me preface that I work in the Logistics industry, specifically International Freight Forwarding. To keep it brief - SSW is a cost effective way to relocate countries if you are prepared to pack your own boxes. the drop off of empty boxes was fantastic in Singapore (NB. Always order more boxes than you think you need, once you handover full boxes you cannot add more as the shipment is closed). You get tape and a marker which is helpful. One annoyance was the phone line wasn't working, had to email SSW for them to call you back. Stressful when you are trying to move countries. The central call centre is in Malaysia. Anyway, the online portal is transparent and helpful, and upon arrival you get your arrival charges, pay them and deliver. Standout was the delivery driver in Auckland, he was just the best. He helped my wife to take the boxes up to our apartment, was told by SSW to leave them outside and drive off, but saw my wife and said "Oh nah I gotta help her". What a legend. The boxes arrived as we packed them, secure and dry. Recommend for a cost friendly way to move goods overseas - just hope everyone has a delivery driver like we did.

24 hour call operator is not true. the number is usually not available. I cant even change the quantity of boxes online if I deleted the number of box by mistakes. the instructions are not cleared. Poor service.. period.

Be very weary. I used Seven Seas multiple times while moving overseas without issue, but on the most recent occasion an item with premium insurance was damaged during shipping and they have been absolutely unwilling to accept any liability or try to work towards a reasonable resolution. Don't expect phone support to help as they have corporate stonewalls up stopping you speaking to anyone beyond first level customer support. Don't expect their insurance or complaint departments to help, their concern is with saving dollars, not helping their customers. Read the insurance fine print, it covers far less than you'd expect, even their premium insurance. If you have item(s) damaged with Seven Seas, expect to have to pay out of your own pocket, or go all the way to Ombudsman. Just use another shipping company, I sure will be! EDIT in response to Seven Seas: Your truck driver broke the item as he was removing it from the Seven Seas truck - I was there. So this was not just an insurance claim, the item was damaged by your driver on delivery, and so the complaint was raised with you, not your insurance provider. Your refusal to acknowledge any wrongdoing or accept any liability is egregious. I had recommended you to many people over the last 7 years, but now I will do the opposite. Feel free to contact me if you'd like to rectify the issue.

We shipped 2 boxes from Cardiff, Wales to Wellington, NZ. Phone and email support to prepare documentation was excellent and both pick up driver and delivery driver were helpful, professional and polite. We loved being able to see on a map where our belongings were as they travelled across the world. All communication was timely and courteous. Would definitely recommend.

I cannot remember the last time I have been so frustrated with a company. I’m still waiting for my shipment 3 months later, I’m now stuck on the other side of the world with no clothes and none of my possessions. I was not made aware of how long shipping would take, and there is absolutely nowhere to go with complaints. Avoid at all costs.

If you are even a little bit uncertain that they can send your items without issue, I would suggest you avoid this company at all cost. They will make you jump through hoops, waste your time and charge you for every minute you spend going through whatever new form or declaration they decide is valid. All while holding your items hostage. If I could give them less than 1 star I would. Edit. They state that my contents were of commercial basis which they were not by all means they are personal and it did not stop them from taking the parcel and charging me for it.
