   I had a fantastic experience with Gemlab. They were incredibly accommodating of my unusual shift patterns, taking the time to work with me over the phone to find an appointment that fit both our calendars. I was looking for somewhere that did same day appointments, as many jewellers nowadays want to ‘send off’ your jewellery for up to 3 weeks as Gemologist are few and far between. My jewellery was valued within half a day. The reception staff are warm and welcoming and quick to come to your attention. Paul, the gemologist, was clearly very experienced and knowledgeable. He was also just a very nice gentleman. All of their certificates are displayed on the walls, and reading through them gives you a real sense of the breadth of expertise they bring. The whole process felt very professional and secure. The office is tucked away upstairs, and the closed-door appointments give you complete privacy and peace of mind when leaving valuables to be valued. Paul took the time to explain in detail how the valuation was reached and also provided thorough, well-documented paperwork to back it up. Overall, it was a really pleasant and professional experience from start to finish, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Genlab to anyone needing jewellery valuation.

   The owner of this lovely shop called and explained what had happened with my previous experience and was so polite and genuine, really kind person I can tell. There was obvious miscommunication between the staff and myself which happens everywhere and now I understand how things work thanks to Paul. I just appreciate the fact the owner took time to contact me and explain everything, that is customer service at its best. Highly recommend this business to anyone A+++. PS, I have already put through a request to Google to remove my previous feedback as per screenshot as it won't allow me to remove it myself for some reason, so hopefully someone gets it removed asap.    Gem Lab called and emailed me regarding my insurance claim I submitted for my jewellery that was stolen and which they were valuing, I responded to all their enquiries almost immediately. However, when I called almost a week later only to ask how much they priced my jewellery that was stolen, I was transferred to someone who was dealing with this on 2 occasions and it rang and rang then went to voicemail and the 3rd time I called the phone line was disconnected. Frustrated at this point, I also tried emailing them on that day too. I did receive an email a day later after my calls apologising for the delay in responding to my email and missed calls and that I would need to contact the insurance company regarding my enquiry. Surely it being my jewellery that was stolen and they receiving all the information pertaining to the stolen jewellery from me they could disclose those details to me? I didn’t want a written report I just wanted to know how much it was valued for as it also had a lot of sentimental value to me as well as one of the jewellery pieces was from my late father. And I was told during my calls to them by the person answering the phone someone would help me with my enquiry but obviously not. Perhaps a little bit of empathy and better communication skills would be good especially during difficult situations like this. If the information is not allowed to be disclosed to me, then I should have been told by the person whom I explained everything to on my first call.
