In a hurry, Friday afternoon, forecast next day for sunshine, need some Pals sorted stat. Put in my order (late), lovely woman calls and apologises profusely for not having the exact flavour I wanted, and offers an alternative option that is more expensive instead for no extra cost. Order turns up next morning, and she has also popped in a wee gift and handwritten "thanks for your understanding" on the delivery note. Gotta love the personal touch, especially when you have been stuck at home in lockdown, talking to your dog for 5 weeks.
Disclaimer: I normally buy my wine at Countdown, but after today that all might change. What normally is a chore for me, today was an absolute pleasure. I popped in for a quick five minute trip, and ended up spending 45 minutes talking with the store's new manager, Sydney. I can't say I know much about wine, but I definitely knew more by the time I left. Can't wait to pair this recommendation with dinner tonight!
