   I organised an end of year dinner for our class at Mr Tanakas tonight (13 of us). The entire process for organising the dinner was seamless and the team were so accommodating even when things changed a few times. The vibe of the restaurant was really cool, the service was awesome, the food was scrumptious and we were all full from our the $65 p/p set menu + a couple of other yummy dishes. The cocktails and wines were great and we had the pleasure of dining in the Lantern room which was such a fun vibe and included karaoke. Unfortunately we didn’t capture photos of the food. Anyhow - I’d like to thank the staff for their wonderful service tonight!! ❤️

   Pretty good Japanese cuisine. We used last table and had a good deal. Beef Tataki was good with large slice of beef and tasty. Sushi was not bad and sashimi was a little thick and not as delicately sliced as proper Japanese restaurant.

   An amazing birthday dining experience with excellent communicative service team and wonderful atmosphere not to mention beautifully cooked and presented menu. We were seated 3-4min after our reservation time (which was of no worry to us) and the lovely staff brought a couple delicious cocktails our way for free which was a super lovely gesture! We look forward to dining with you again! Also please, the staff especially our host made the whole dinner enjoyable for the whole family

   Saw the grabone deal so decide to come here and try as we like izakaya style restaurant. We ordered vege tempura, pork belly skewer, ribeye steak and the deep fry mochi dessert. The tempura was nicely fried and had a little chili powder on the outside. The pork belly skewer was also nicely charred with seaweed and some pear slices on top which gave it a balanced flavour. However the food took forever to come out, the first dish came out within 15 minutes, then the pork belly came around minute 45. Saw the table next to us that came 20 minutes after us and getting the steak and everything they ordered by 45 minutes. So I went up and asked for a status update and eventually after 1 hour and 25 minutes of waiting for the steak, it finally came. However the steak tasted extremely good, nice charness and fattiness on the steak. It came with 2 sauces, one was honey soy and the other I felt it was sort of like a beefy onion-ish gravy which was the best sauce by far. The dessert came afterwards and was not bad. Given the food here is actually excellent compare to many other places, I was less angry, especially when the manager came and gave us a discount. Still it would have been nice if all our food came hot together or close together since the night was already not as enjoyable than it was. There was probably some order mix up here and when it got busy, then the system in place didn't work that well. Will we come back? Will most likely come back for the steak at least.

   Skewers here are delicious! Nothing to fault on the food, everything is so tasty and it's quite an interesting menu to choose from. I just find the staff members need some improving with providing good service and not just doing the bare minimum. They would stand there with their arms crossed, yawning etc. If the staff were friendlier and more professional/motivated, that would match the quality of food served and make it a place I'd recommend to others. The restaurant also needed more heating as it was a cold night.

   The 3 of us went here and got the kids pork belly, pork and cabbage gyoza, chicken karrage (when we went there it was 2 for the price of 1), chilli squid and miso eggplant all for the price of $66! Everything was so good and the service was literally the best. We were able to bring our dog in and they gave her a bowl of water without us even asking for one!! Honestly the best place to go.

   While the service was good, the food at this Japanese restaurant was a total letdown and ruined our night. The sake tasted watered down, the renkon chips were rock hard, the tuna tataki lacked freshness, and the karaage chicken was both oily and overcooked. And don't even get me started on the Osaka balls - they were just flour bombs with barely any octopus inside. Easily the worst Japanese restaurant experience I've had.

   We had lunch at Mr Tanaka's. Absolutely love the food. Very fresh and authentic. Our favourites are Tuna Tataki, grilled salmon, tempura soft shell crab. The tuna tataki was fragrant as they have added lots of sesame seeds. Grilled Salmon was crispy on the outside yet soft inside. Just melts in your mouth. Tempura soft shell crab was just yum. Staff members are very polite and prompt as well. Seating is spacious. Will definitely recommend.
