    Probably the worst website I’ve ever experienced when it comes to shipping. First order I made they forgot to put my address On both packages. Second order I selected pick up from one store clicked order paid and then suddenly I have to pick up from another store even though there is stock at the store I picked

    I purchased an Oru Inlet kayak online and received an order confirmation the next day. I went to the Newmarket store to collect it, only to be told it’s not ready for pickup and I needed to wait for a separate “ready to collect” email. Fair enough. While at the store, I asked if I could switch to the Oru Beach kayak (which is the same price). The staff were helpful and said the change was reflected in their system. I appreciated that. However, over the next two months, I received conflicting updates. First, an email saying they were still sorting stock. Then, another month later, I was told it was ready for pickup — only to get to the store and be told this was a mistake. Apparently, someone had accidentally marked it as ready. Now I’m told I need to wait another 4–6 weeks… or just accept a refund. So after two months of waiting, the only resolution is a refund? It’s disappointing and makes me question how Kathmandu is operating. I honestly wonder if they are using customer payments to prop up stock delays instead of taking proper financial measures. Not what I expected from a major outdoor retailer. I won’t be shopping here again.

    Appears to be more fashion focused now rather than technical. Staff need to have understanding of camp equipment. I asked for a pack liner and they didn’t know what I was talking about. Torpedo 7 and macpac and the smaller outdoor brands on Broadway hire staff with knowledge which is what is required. Lovely and appealing store front.

    I tried a pair of boots and ask the staff to pack and put on hold for me. Accidentally got both in the left side. I called the store and the first thing the person who pick up the phone is to asked me whether I mix it up myself? I never asked whose fault it is and How am I suppose to mix up when u didn’t even grab the boots. Then she proceed to tell me that the best solution is me going back to the nmk store and then get it change over there otherwise they have to chuck both right side in the bin. I’m leaving for a hike today and almost ended up with a pair that I could let wear. Maybe from now on it’s the customers task to check the size of shoes now so that their staff won’t mess up and then blame it on you.

    We visited the store at Thursday evening when the mall was pretty quite. And although we were just browsing around, we decided to purchase some thermals for kid and the man at the counter was super friendly and helpful when we picked the wrong item! And he was very patient when we were trying to log into our account and after our card was declined twice. We felt welcome there even if it was evening when normally staff are so ready to go home and they don’t look forward to wandering people.

    The shop is marvellous! I arrived there on Saturday morning asking for some assistance . I asked the cashier if there were any shop assistance. She said no . There were at least 15 people waiting for assistance to no avail. This is a huge shop without shopping assistants . The owners of Kathmandu need to be alarmed at the tardiness and attitude of the people running this shop

    If there were 10 stars for rating. I would choose 10 out of 10. Super friendly staffs, especially the store manager. Incredibly friendly and helpful. She was so patient with me and my mom. Answered tones of questions from us. It was very very very pleasant shopping experience. Highlight of the day!

    I purchased a thermal drink bottle for $35 (on sale) 2months prior at this branch. Even from the very beginning I had to close the lid a few times to ensure it doesn’t leak. Now it leaks no matter how many times I try to adjust the lid when closing. I tried to take it back for a replacement, but was told by the manager that It’s Kathmandu policy that if an item has been used, it cannot be returned even if the product is faulty!! How ridiculous is this, if I haven’t used the item how would I know that it’s faulty?! For an water bottle of this price range, should I not expect that it should last more than a few months?? I’m usually very happy with the quality of Kathmandu products, but am extremely disappointed with how this event has turned out. I would not trust this company enough to purchase any future products…. (Imagine purchasing an expensive tent, after a few times of use you find out there’s a quality problem, and not being able to return it….). I will also be complaining to the Commerce commission regarding Kathmandu failing to comply to Consumers Guarantee Act. Update: After supplying video evidence of the leak and photo of the receipt to the ‘head office’ , I was offered a replacement bottle. I was told that the manager did not want to offer me a replacement or refund because apparently she ‘tested the drink bottle but didn't find any leaks’. How she managed to test the bottle when it was completely empty is beyond me…. I hope the company can start offering more training to their managers, to make sure they are fit for the role.

    The thermal drink bottle we purchase here started leaking only 1 month after the purchase. When we took the faulty item back to the store for replacement, the store manager said that store policy is that it you used it, they can’t take it back. How ridiculous that they are saying if you used our faulty product, then it’s your fault and too bad. The manager here was not helpful at all and looking from other reviews, it’s not the first time. She made us feel very unpleasant and blamed us for their faulty product. I have never heard this ridiculous policy anywhere and will be taking this to the commerce commission as it definitely violate the consumers guarantee act. Please be very careful shopping at this store.
