They do not perform proper maintenance, and then blame the tenant for not following HHS. They lie to protect the owners only, NEVER the tenants, and retaliate as soon as you soon as you discovery a problem.

My family applied for a rental property with Courtenay from Just Rentals. After being told our application had progressed to the next round we didn’t hear anything for days. When I made contact to follow up I received a short email stating we hadn’t been successful and “all the best” with our search. Was she even going to let us know if I hadn’t asked? When I asked for some feedback as to why we were unsuccessful she didn’t even bother to respond. Extremely disappointing service, especially as we still needed a rental yet she couldn’t even suggest other properties that may have suited us! Odd considering that’s her job… I would not recommend. She caused extra stress in an already stressful time in our lives.
Excellent and professional service. Sylvia and Courtenay are great to deal with. I had a problem with a leaking tap and a plumber was out to fix it in a couple of hours.
I have been with Just Rentals now in 2 different properties over 4 years and found them to be fantastic property managers who are diligent, respectful and professional in every aspect of their job. We have never once had any issue with any repair request or confusion around any detail of our lease, and they've provided an exemplary service that has made our time living in Auckland a breeze. I couldn't recommend them more as a tenant.
Never rent with these people. They are so lazy, unreliable and unproffessional. I was the lease holder for a property they rented out and although the landlord was doing illegal renovations on the property which I did not give consent to they provided me with no support. When I asked about a rent reduction due to the renovations I was told the rent was already relatively cheap so we didn't need one. Also while I was there they failed to inform me of the rent increase which increased by $80 a week -they apparently they sent the notice to the previous lease holder. They allowed random people to come through and fix problems with the house which were never fixed properly and I had to get in several times before the problem was sorted. One of these 'tradespeople I was told was the husband of one of the women working at Just Rentals. They also didn't update my contract to take into account new rental property laws. It makes me wonder what they do with their day if and they actually work or not.
They called me first thing in the morning today to say my rent is arrear which seemed impossible as the payment goes out automatically. I asked for a breakdown and they said they’ll send it soon and that person Sylvia couldn’t really tell me much more (they probably just called without checking thoroughly) . Half an hour later, still no details come through. After checking my bank account for the last 13 months of transactions I could find no missed payment. I called them to say there’s no missed payment. She passed me on to Graham and he couldn’t tell me the details straight away. After a lot of stuttering he said it’s always been behind... I said “So, after 13 months of renting the place, you’re telling me now that the rent has always been behind? Maybe you should have acted a lot earlier on”. Then the old geezer said “Maybe” I asked for the details and an apology. He refused to apologize although they didn’t do their job properly. Then he hung up. The fact that these kind of property managers exist is infuriating and disgusting. I’m not that kind of person who leaves reviews but perhaps these kind of unprofessional behaviors should lead to getting their license revoked.
I rented through Just Rentals for about 2.5 years in Meadowbank and was very pleased with their service. As a tenant who is in the property business myself I know what it takes to rent a place and found Just rentals to be the best I have dealt with. Most rental agencies out there do not actually know what they do and do not care. They present dirty properties for rent and are not responsive. Just Rentals, however, always present nice, clean and presentable properties and have always looked after me with whatever I needed. Highly recommended to work with. Very happy. Even now I was looking to rent a place and had a hard time finding something. Just Rentals showed a renovated property which I thought was not worth the money charged and they managed to negotiate it down for me. Very pleased. Be nice and not over demanding and you will be looked after by Just Rentals Highly recommended.
