I wish I’d read the reviews before I took my diamond ring (bought from Michael Hill Jeweller) here to be resized. Was told ten working days. Brought it in on the Sunday, rang during the second week to confirm it would be done so I could pick it up on Saturday (12 days & 10 working days later) to wear to a wedding. Was assured that it would ready. The woman marked it as urgent. Rang on the Friday just before closing to see if it had been dropped off yet and if I could pick it up in the morning. The most apathetically unhelpful woman just said it’s not here - she said you need to give us ten working days, I explained that I had. With her insincere americanised customer service voice gratingly repeating the token sorry, it’s not here, it was clear that she couldn’t care less. I could almost hear her shrugging through the phone. Finally was phoned the follow Wednesday afternoon to pick up. Went in and was asked are you pleased with the ring? I said I’m pleased to have the ring back but I’m not pleased with how long it’s taken, well over the quoted timeframe and it was specifically requested as urgent in time for a wedding. Her response was “ok then, thank yooooou” I don’t think she was even listening. I was interested in some diamond earrings that I’d seen when I went in to drop off the ring, and had planned to get them on my return. I went to another jeweller instead and bought them there.

Do not buy anything of value or sentiment from the Botany store, the manager is horrible and does not care. Continued issues with my engagement ring being repaired (4 times now) which shouldn’t happen when spending big $$$. Go somewhere else where they will actually care about your feelings and what you actually want. Nothing but money hungry.

Oh, where do I even start with Michael Hill Jewellers Botany? My experience with this store and with the company in general has been an absolute nightmare, and it's all thanks to The previous Regional Manager Michael Bell, the previous Store Manager, Pretti, and the new Store Manager, Ankit. Their customer service skills are nonexistent, and they seem to take pleasure in pushing customers around without providing any solid solutions. Let me tell you about my sentimental sapphire and diamond ring, a heartfelt graduation gift from my mother ten years ago. It broke due to a manufacturing fault, and Michael Hill acknowledged the issue. But the trouble began when they claimed their jewellers couldn't fix it, even though another jeweller confirmed it was repairable. Seriously, get your facts straight, Michael Hill! Months of arguing ensued, yes, MONTHS, which then turned into 2 YEARS before they finally offered store credit equal to the original purchase price. Oh, but wait, inflation isn't a thing in their little world, apparently. So, they expect us to find a similar ring at an outdated price, impossible! And the stress continued when we finally found a suitable replacement; enter the new manager, Ankit. More hoops to jump through, as he needed to verify everything again. At this point, I was at my wit's end with this circus. And guess what? They had the audacity to offer us store credit for the repair cost but insisted we pay FULL retail price for the ring, despite it being on special. What kind of twisted logic is that? Apparently, their store credit magically transforms into a money-sucking tool for full-priced products only. This entire ordeal has been a nightmare, and I can't believe this company even dares to call itself a "luxury" jewellery brand. The appalling treatment, the lack of service, and the sheer incompetence of their management have left me disgusted. Save yourself the trouble, folks. Stay far away from Michael Hill Jewellers if you want quality jewellery and even just a hint of reasonable customer service. This company is an absolute joke.

Just got my 100m Water resistant watch home from Michael Hill as battery was changed by them for the second time ( first time 4 months earlier by M.H the movement was stopping infrequently after change), and heard a dull clunking sound as I was opening clasp to put on my wrist.... so turned it over and found back cover was loose, I unscrewed it by hand! If I had worn in shower it would have been ruined in minutes. What kind of amateur repair shop are they outsourcing the repairs to?? Now a special trip back and will post their response here. If a nationwide jeweller gets a battery replacement wrong twice in a row, what does that tell you about their 'quality' ethos....

Sadly I had my jewelry stolen so hubbie and I recently went shopping for replacement items. We covered a LOT of jewelry shops in East Auckland and found nothing to our liking, and at times customer service was lacking. But the moment we walked into Michael Hill at Botany there was a great vibe - and having the security guard at the door gave us some reassurance too in this day and age. Nakul was friendly and so polite, and listened to our needs. Nakul and Ankie then steered us in the right direction and the lady assistant was also very helpful. Unfortunately I don't have her name. All 3 were listening to my wants and found exactly the perfect ring for my finger. In fact I ended up with two rings as they came as a set, and I also bought a gorgeous 'dancing diamond' pendant they showed me. Whilst processing the payment we were offered a coffee, although we declined. Nakul also gave the ring I was wearing a clean and that came up like new. I felt like a star, and now I have some bright ones on my finger which I can proudly say I bought from Michael Hill. Thank you Nakul, Ankie and the lovely lady for making our shopping experience the best ever.
