    We had an extremely disappointing experience at Michael Hill Sylvia Park. With my father’s wedding happening next week, this visit was meant to be meaningful and special. Instead, it turned into an uncomfortable and frustrating situation due to the staff’s unacceptable attitude. I had already placed an order the night before for a small ring as a gift for my stepmother a ring that suited my budget perfectly. When I came in simply to pick it up, the staff member told me the ring was “too small,” claimed they couldn’t find it, and then pressured me to order a bigger and more expensive ring instead. This was inappropriate, unnecessary, and frankly disrespectful. Throughout the entire interaction, her tone and body language were rude and dismissive, making us feel judged and unwelcome. Rather than being helpful, she consistently made the situation worse. This behavior left us unhappy and especially upset my mum, during what should have been a joyful family moment. This level of service is unacceptable for a brand like Michael Hill. We expected professionalism and respect, but instead walked away feeling embarrassed and disappointed.

    These people are FRAUD and scammers!!! On the 29th of November I went with my partner Sylvia park and never even planned to buy anything from Michael Hill we were just looking around, The Filipina lady ran towards us and started saying these sales pick up lines (as If I'm a teenager or a kid who doesn't know the sales tricks) she said they're doing BLACK FRIDAY promotion which is zero interest fee and they will pay my interest, all I have to do just give my driver's license to them and my details, I WASN'T AWARE ABOUT ANY APPLICATION OR FINANCE WHICH THEY MADE UNDER MY NAME WITHOUT MY CONCERNS, she made 4 applications under my name with my details I wasn't even aware about it, and it affected my credit score and I'm super frustrated about it and really upset. THEY DID FRAUD WITH ME Never Go this store they're super pushy and unprofessional, no communication about the process and no information what they gonna do with your details. Whoever running this store you'll be in big trouble with this kind of staff.

    Honestly a really disappointing experience. We came in to get a piece of jewellery serviced and were told it would take about 10 minutes. We ended up waiting nearly 30 minutes with no update. When we finally went to enquire, the staff just kept passing us from one person to another like no one wanted to deal with it. Eventually someone came out and practically shoved the item at my wife without even saying anything. No communication, no courtesy, nothing. Made us wonder why we even came here. Very unfriendly and rude staff. Wouldn’t recommend.

    Really disappointed with the customer service here. I came in after receiving a birthday voucher email which clearly stated I only needed to spend $50 to redeem it. However, without even properly checking the email, the two sales associates (both Asian) were extremely rude and dismissive, insisting I needed to spend minimum $300 instead. Their tone was condescending and unhelpful, and it felt like they couldn’t be bothered to even listen. Looking through other reviews, it seems this kind of rude behaviour from the staff is a recurring issue, which is really disappointing for a brand that’s meant to provide a premium experience.

    My partner and I went into michael hill to shop for engagement rings, and our experience was extremely uncomfortable. We were open about our budget from the beginning, but the saleswoman immediately began showing us rings that were over double our budget. We were told multiple times to ignore the prices of the rings; however, when it came time to actually purchase them we were unable to buy the ones recommended to us and the sales staff were extremely pushy even though our budget was clear from the start. The staff also "accidentally" charged my partners Q Mastercard account almost $7000 which was reversed, but it was an unacceptable and very stressful situation nonetheless. They seem to have a nasty sales tactic which involves showing rings which are way over budget, getting the woman to fall in love with the ring, and then subtly embarrassing the man for not being able to pay for it which seems to play on a partners want to not disappoint their partner. The sales staff seem cold, cunning, and money-hungry, and the whole store has a shady vibe. I would not go into this store unless you want to be guilted into having your wallet sucked dry by a pack of leeches.

    I can only speak about the Sylvia Park branch and I wouldn't recommend it. I went in with a couple of cheapish rings in mind and had them saved on my phone. Showed the salesperson and she bought some rings back, none of which were the ones I asked for. She said they didn't have them, instead she brought similar looking ones at double or triple the price but wasn't so up front about it. She kept pushing me and asking what my budget was and kept mentioning afterpay and interest free. I did buy a ring within my budget but she made the experience awkward and unpleasant. I entered the shop excited and left annoyed. I get that she a salesperson but i don't think she should be encouraging people into debt for a luxury item. The 2 stars is for the ring because I do like it and got a pretty good special but even so, I will not return. Had a much better experience at Pascoes.

    So grateful to Tessa for her awesomely kind customer service. I was disappointed by the quality of a ring we had purchased and was in the mindset that "I'd never shop there again", but Tessa totally turned me around. She listened, had great empathy and was so incredibly helpful. Going above and beyond to help me with choosing a replacement. She is an absolute star and I'd encourage anyone who is shopping for a special piece of jewellery to come to this store (And ask for Tessa).

    Horrible, terrible experience! My husband purchased earrings for my Xmas present. A number of times he mentioned that he wasn't sure which pair to get. He purchased being 100% sure that we could exchange if I wouldn't like the earrings. The sales person NEVER informed him that the earrings are not exchangeable items at their store. Today (3 days later from the purchase date) we went there to exchange the earrings and discovered that it is impossible. I'm going to make an official complaint as my husband wasn't told that he won't be able to exchange. He was misled by not being provided full and complete information about his purchase. Your apologies are NOT ACCEPTED. I'll take this case further as your sales person managed to tell her whole life story but forgot to advise about non-exchangeable policy. You also didn't have any signs about your policy next to earrings. Absolutely unacceptable customer experience.

    I've gone in here a few times and always felt high pressure from the sales team. Finally, I went in to say that I was just viewing items that day, and would come back another day to complete the purchase, mostly so they wouldn't push me so hard to buy something out of my price range. However, as soon as I said I wouldn't be purchasing that day, the women all started to treat me very poorly - a big shift from the caring "let's find your forever jewellery" attitude they'd had moments prior. Really sad.

    I bought a diamond ring band from Michael hill which had lab cultured diamonds. One of the diamonds fell off so I took the ring back to replace the diamond. I was approached by an Asian lady. After finding out that I was Chinese, she immediately pointed out the wedding ring I was wearing on my left hand was a one carat ring. As if it wasn’t good enough for her. After I presented her with the issue I had with the band, the rude Chinese lady immediately began to judge the fact that the diamonds weren’t real. She took the ring away and had me waiting for a while. Only to come back saying she talked to the store manager and the store manager was kind enough to offer me to replace my ring with a ring that’s got real diamonds. I told her that I was well aware the diamonds were lab cultured. She said it was her first time seeing this product. I asked her to please process the paperwork so I could go as I brought my toddler with me. She went away, took another 10min and gave the document to me and said someone will ring me once it’s fixed. Almost three weeks later, I called the store asking for an update and received the news that the ring cannot be fixed. Apparently I was meant to get a call from her about this but the truth is I never got a call. I’d like to point out the fact that she never once showed empathy. All I saw in her was greed. She wanted to upsell and she was very judgmental. I get it, there is a target to meet but so is everyone working in retail/sales space. But shouldn’t you solve the customer’s query first before trying to achieve what you want to achieve? I’m not sure why you would hire such person to work in a jewellery store. There are multiple negative reviews on here that may be referring to the same person. Michael Hill, I truly hope you mean it when you say you will investigate it further. She’s definitely misrepresenting the company image and helping you lose valuable customers.
