   We found Mariana's by accident while on a recent stroll along Petone foreshore on a wonderful Saturday afternoon. We ordered fries (deliciously wonderfully cooked, crispy on the outside, hot n soft on the inside) chicken empanada & a chicken/leek pie. OMGosh, the pastry was divine, soft and scrumptious, not like what I'd expect. Dense but not stodgy! Very hard to explain. We look forward to our next visit and trying something different. Staff are friendly and accommodating as well, great customer service.

   We had an argentain sausage sandwich for lunch and tasted like the real thing if you were back in Argentina. The alfajores are outstanding, soft crumbling cookie filled with delicious dulce de leche,just perfect.

   EDIT: We paid a visit to Mariana's new premises and I was so glad we did!! The cakes and sweet treats are eye-wateringly good and while we were there someone came in to pick up their empanada order which, at a glance looked to be at least 8 ... paired with those melt the mouth alfajores it's something not to be missed! We ordered the chicken chimmichuri sandwich and salad, coffees and the sweet milk buns and OML ... I was definitely in my happy place ♥️ If you've not tried Mariana's Kitchen you really should! The empanadas are delicious as are the afajores. Authentic flavours and food made with a little splash of magic. Located by the beach and next to the park, it's a lovely place to chill with a chicken chimichurri sandwich and fries. Great portions, great coffee, great service.

   I mean, warm, tasty empanadas, sweet, endulging homemade alfajores, classic kiwi chippies, beach side, in wellington on a nice sunny day... What more could you ask for. Need to stop here and get yourself a sweet (or two!) And a savoury if you're passing by. Highly recommend. She was lovely too.

   Discovered Mariana's today after a beach walk. Great wee spot for traditional Argentinian Street food. Empanadas were great...so was the weather!!! Recommended!
