I visited your store today and was disappointed with the service. I asked three staff members for help finding an item and each sent me to the wrong aisle. The staff seemed unsure and didn't offer to help further. I'm frustrated as I didn't find what I needed. Please improve staff training to ensure customers get better assistance."

I am writing to formally raise a complaint about the customer service I received from Ajay on 1-12-25 around 8.40. Unfortunately, the interaction was extremely disappointing and far below the standard I expect, I had simply left an onion bag in the store area, and Ajay approached me in a very rude and aggressive manner, saying that I “didn’t inform him.” He then went as far as to threaten me by saying he could trespass me, telling me to get out of the store and not to come back. This behaviour was completely unprofessional, unnecessary, and made me feel intimidated and embarrassed. No customer should be spoken to or threatened like this for something so minor, especially when a simple polite conversation would have resolved the situation. I am requesting that this incident be reviewed urgently. I would also appreciate being informed of what actions will be taken to ensure this does not happen again.

Try not to shop here if I can help it as there always seems to be some sort of annoying half finished construction going on inside. Staff are pretty miserable and unfriendly too. Good range in stock though.

Woolworths Takanini is a solid choice for grocery shopping in South Auckland, especially for locals in the Takanini and Papakura areas. It’s located within the Takanini Village complex, so parking is generally easy to find and you can pair your supermarket run with stops at nearby cafes, takeaways, or the chemist. The store itself is modern and clean, with wide aisles that make it comfortable to navigate, even during busier times. The fresh produce section is usually well presented, with a good variety of fruits and vegetables that are rotated regularly. The meat section has improved in recent months, offering a decent range and quality. The bakery area is neat but could benefit from a bit more variety—especially in terms of fresh bread options later in the day. In terms of general groceries, the shelves are mostly well-stocked, and the selection is broad enough to cover everything from daily essentials to specialty items and international brands. Customer service here tends to be more consistent than in some other stores. Staff are generally polite and approachable, though like any supermarket, you might occasionally come across someone who looks like they’d rather be anywhere else. Self-checkout is quick and convenient, and there are usually enough staff on hand to help if a machine gets stuck or an item doesn’t scan properly. The store also feels safe and family-friendly, without the heavy security presence that some other locations have. While Woolworths Takanini isn’t the cheapest option in the area, the regular specials and “everyday low prices” do make it competitive—especially if you’re a savvy shopper who checks the app or weekly flyer. The only minor downside is that it can get crowded during the after-school rush and weekends, so timing your visit can make a big difference. Overall, it’s a comfortable and reliable place to shop. The layout, the friendly staff, and the convenience of its location help keep grocery shopping feeling smooth and stress-free. Just another small slice of suburban paradise.

I shop here only because it's close and convenient. Staff are all sullen and slow moving. There are never more than two check out operators open, while they usually have three or four people just standing around near the check outs, one to check whether you actually scan your own shopping correctly, which I get, but as a multi billion dollar company, if you expect people that are struggling financially to do the work your paying the people that are standing around for, then you should maybe hire a few extra people that can actually do some work. The check out operators no longer pack our shopping, expecting us to put it all on the counter, pack it all ourselves and pay, all while standing in front of a person that hasn't even acknowledged that we are even there, yet they start huffing if we can't pack our shopping and get out fast enough. The store is often dirty inside and outside, and even though there are "no busking or begging" signs out front, there are almost always at least two people sitting or standing around near the entrance to accost shoppers going in and out. Do not get me started on the prices.

Beware! Discounts are not being applied at the checkout and you won't know until you've already paid. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me now. The staff were dismissive and not interested in addressing my concerns.
