As a student for the last two years at Carey Baptist College I have found my time spent there invaluable. I have found that the staff and lecturers are people who deeply invest in the students not only academically but spiritually as well. If you are looking for a college that will challenge, grow and deepen your faith with Christ I would highly recommend Carey Baptist College. I look forward to years I have ahead to study and grow at Carey, with the diverse community it continually grows.
Am thoroughly enjoying my time as a Carey student. Currently training to be a pastor, and the quality of learning, the integrity of the staff, and the support of the students is superb. Am loving being part of a diverse mix of people seeking to honour and proclaim Jesus to our world with truth and grace.
Appalling communication. When I requested information before enrolling, I was told all the information is on their website, and I was given a copy and paste of the relevant web page (five lvl5 papers). After enrolling, I found out that there were in fact eight papers required, only some of which are listed on their website, for the qualification I was initially aiming for. Asked for clarification on my marks for one of my assignments, it was all but refused. Eventually it was remarked by another tutor, who agreed with my tutor (no issues there), but neither of them gave clarification on anything. I am presently having that assignment independently marked in accordance with the course outline, as I do not believe the grounds for failure are provided for in the course outline or the assignment brief. The course outline and assignment briefs on several courses were too broad, and did not include key requirements for the assignments. In general, CBC's communication issues have costed me far too much time and money, with very little to show for either. That said, Reti has been invaluable in keeping me on track with my assignments.
