I am writing to express my disappointment regarding an incident that occurred at your Pak’nSave today at approximately 3:00 PM. I had two separate groups of items in my trolley, which I placed separately on the counter to pay for using two different cards. The first group of items was paid for without any issue. However, when I went to pay for the second group, I realised that my other debit card was missing from my wallet. A staff member advised me that the items could be put on hold, and another staff member wheeled them to the front office near the Lotto area. After checking with my in-laws, who were waiting in the car, and confirming that the card was not there, I informed the security guard of my situation and began removing some items from the trolley that I could no longer pay for. A male supervisor or manager approached, and after I explained what had happened, he was understanding. Shortly after, a supervisor named Renuka also came over, and I explained the situation again, which at first seemed fine. However, I became frustrated when she asked me to move to the front of the desk area and I had to repeat my explanation several times. The situation was straightforward, but the manner in which she questioned me made me feel as though I was being dishonest. As I walked away, she stated that I was trying to leave without paying for an Anchor yoghurt and baby wipes. I found this extremely upsetting and unacceptable. I do not appreciate being accused in this way or having my integrity questioned. I believe her comments were inappropriate. I work every day to support young people in our community to make honest and positive choices. Being spoken to in that manner made me reflect on how easily people especially those who feel unheard can be made to feel small, judged, or powerless. It was disheartening, and I felt my own mana was disrespected. I believe it is important for staff, especially those in positions of authority such as supervisors, to understand biculturalism and how to relate respectfully to all customers, particularly Māori and Pacific communities. Tone, approach, and cultural awareness matter greatly in customer service, and I hope this situation highlights the need for further training. I want to acknowledge the positive changes Mr Lin have made since taking over the store. Shopping at this Pak’nSave has become a much more welcoming experience compared to when we first buying in the area August 2024. It was like a dark and dreary world Pak'nSave and it has been resurrected by Mr Lin. I appreciate the improvements. I simply ask that staff who represent your store uphold the same standard of respect and professionalism that you have worked hard to establish. Thank you for taking the time to read my concerns.

We mistakenly ended up at the express lane around 5.50pm today , without a doubt that is our fault . Your staff member rudely told us off not once but twice and indirectly called us blind as we should have seen the " RED EXPRESS " sign. There we 2 customers infront of us with full trolley and staff member didn't behave rudely towards them at all . We come to your paknsave in mangere every Friday after work to do our shopping before heading home and spend great deal of money as well. Never I expected to be treated like grap . Your staff are not the only ones working, we work long hours too. Your queues get longer each time and yet we dont complain, but we do expect acceptable customer service and that should be given.

It’s a spacious branch here and they offer a variety of goods like other branches. However they don’t accept American Express credit card while my local branch has no problem at all. There is no self checkout here.

Pak’nSave Māngere is a no-nonsense, budget-focused supermarket that does exactly what it promises — cheap groceries in bulk. The store itself isn’t the newest or flashiest, but it’s functional and serves the local community well. If you’re shopping on a tight budget or feeding a large family, it’s a reliable go-to. The inside has that typical warehouse feel — simple shelves, bright lights, wide aisles. It’s not fancy, but it’s spacious enough to get around even during busy periods. The layout can feel a bit chaotic at times, especially when there are big specials on, but once you get used to where things are, it’s manageable. Pricing is where Māngere really delivers. The weekly specials and everyday low prices make it one of the most affordable places to do a full shop. You can fill up your trolley without completely emptying your wallet. Produce is decent, with a mix of fresh and not-so-fresh depending on the day. The meat section offers good value, but it’s worth checking the dates and picking carefully. Bakery items are basic, but they do the job — plenty of white bread, buns, and rolls to choose from. Staff are usually helpful if you ask, though it’s more of a self-service environment overall. Don’t expect warm greetings or chit-chat, but they’ll help you out if you need something. Checkout lines can get long during peak hours, but they usually move at a steady pace. There are self-checkouts, but the layout around them can get a bit cramped when it’s busy. The carpark is fairly big, but not the easiest to navigate. It gets crowded quickly, especially on weekends, and the entry and exit points can be a bit of a squeeze. Still, if you’re patient, you’ll usually find a spot without too much trouble. One thing to keep in mind — the online listings don’t always match what’s actually in stock. If you’re planning a shop based on what’s shown on the website, be prepared for a few things to be missing or substituted. Overall, Pak’nSave Māngere is a workhorse kind of supermarket. It’s not about the experience, it’s about the savings. If you know what you’re after and just want to get in, get your groceries, and save money, it ticks all the boxes. Just don’t expect bells and whistles.

Did an hour shop yesterday (2pm9/08/2023) came to check out and Christmas club System was down. Waste of time! Floor manager was extremely rude, disrespectful and intimidating, he even got mad at me for questioning why we spent all this time in store without knowing the club card would be void. My son and I left with no food. Horrible experience, made worse by staff.

Pretty busy when I was there. The lady on the checkout was cool and had a friendly smile. All in all I left happy .Except for my empty wallet but that happens everywhere I shop.
