1. Biased or racist obviously! Didnt switch on the fan or cooler or airconditioner for three hours since we came with our hijabis parent and babies plus toddler, but when they’re white (kiwi) parents with their kids came in at 3pm we can feel the fan blew from top of the ceiling (like after we were all sweat our shirt off) 2. The counter lady at the cafe was so cold when we asked whether we can see photos of the menu instead of just names. She told us to go outside and check out menu before enter just by the door (without a lil bit of smile even) and kept her poker face till i went out looking for the machine without her trying to assist or anything. She’s lucky that we’ve paid for the playground before came for the food. Or else we would have left to another indoor playground. 3. There are signs everywhere near the slide stating that no adult is allowed to play the merchandise. Like hello you expect our one year old baby to get down the slide on their own? Ridiculous! Unless you have your staff accompanying our baby in there, us parents should be playing with them for safety cautious. I mean where the fun at? First and last!

I visited Hippo Indoor Playground with my toddler, along with my friend and her child. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. As hijab-wearing customers, we felt that the staff treated us differently. They were extremely unfriendly, and their behaviour came across as discriminatory. We stayed for more than four hours, and the air-conditioning was off the entire time. However, as soon as other (Kiwi) customers arrived, they immediately turned the air-conditioning on. The facilities were also poorly maintained. The ball pit area, in particular, was quite dirty. The café staff were rude and unhelpful. When we asked about halal-friendly or vegan options, they told us to use the self-service kiosk instead of assisting us. Overall, it was an uncomfortable and unpleasant visit. I would not recommend this place to families looking for a welcoming, clean, and inclusive environment.

We had our sons 5th birthday party here. The facilities are very clean, you can sit and watch the kids easily. Lots to do, games, face painting, obviously the playground itself. The food was great in the café, as well as the party food we ordered. Would absolutely come back again.

Well it was average and not value for the money. $29.5 per kid is expensive. We have visited during school holiday and it was crowded. The big claw machine cost another $30 and toys are old and dirty. No one used it while we were there. Just an average indoor play ground.

The kids absolutely loved this place. This was a much needed chillout day for the family when visiting NZ (4yr and 2yr). Few other attractions across Auckland provided the kids with the safe freedom to explore and have fun like children during our trip. They truly let loose and went for play. The vibe was relaxed and the bonus of having coffee on-site is the perfect match for a child-friendly morning.

We had my daughters 3rd birthday party celebrations here. The food was absolutely delicious, staff were wonderful and so helpful and the entire party area and play areas were well maintained and very clean. We cannot wait to go back next year. Thank you again Hippo Playground Team.

This is the floor, after cleaned! Oily and slippery with food and rubbish! Kids are not wearing any shoes. Short of staff with discounted service but inflated price!

Beautiful place, cafe is good. Only problem is the safety and attitude of some of the staff. I’ve taken my son (3yrs) here only 2x and both times he has managed to freely walk out of the gated kids area without any of the staff noticing. The gate needs to be fixed for child safety as the front doors are automatic and any kid can freely walk out onto the road. The few times my son has gotten out he’s run towards the front doors and not once staff had noticed. Luckily my sister was with me and noticed before it was too late. Because of the faulty child gate many parents would shut the gate assuming it’s closed, meanwhile it’s left open for the children to wonder. I was hoping I’d be able to catch a good and we’ll needed coffee break while my son could play safely but felt like I had to stand up every few minutes to close the gate to ensure his and other kids safety. My sister approached the staff saying that it isn’t safe for the kids to have the gates wide open all the time, also explaining how my son got out over 5x. After she did the front desk lady would shut the gate when she noticed but with an attitude. When she was first approached she said “no the kids are fine, we can see them and won’t let the kids get outside”. I feel like the staff should undergo safety for children or something, just feel unsettled. Or at least fix the gate so when you close it it closes and not just opens again.

Hippo is definitely a 5 STAR place. The staff are super friendly with excellent customer service. You will not be disappointed if you book one of the party rooms for your kids birthday. The food is super fresh and the cake is delicious. Thank you so much Hippo (staff) for such an amazing experience.

Awesome place for the kids to burn off some energy! Something for all ages. Great helpful staff and they’re actively supervising the play areas which is good to see. I grabbed a coffee from the cafe and it was surprisingly good, the cafe is actually lovely and a nice place for parents to catch up. Looking forward to coming back soon!
