   Just arrived at Wellington airport and wanted to support something more local. This bakery is just a short drive away. It was our first time visiting so I thought Google maps had us in the wrong place at first. It is down a little side alley and looks like it is an industrial area. Well worth the initial confusion. I had a date scone and my daughter had a tomato and cheese scroll. Best date scone I have ever eaten. Had some apple in it, dates, nice whole-wheat flour. Perfect texture and flavour. My daughter said her scroll was similarly delicious. Hopefully we can visit again.

   WOW! Truly a hidden gem, a MUST visit if you're positively inclined to friendly and polite customer service, scrummy yummy bread (especially the sourdough!!), and coffee ready in record time!! I happened to stumble upon it during a dark and rainy day and it truly felt like I had entered the pearly gates above. Thank you to the whole Shelly Bay Bakery team, you will be seeing me again many times!

   What a beautiful bakery! We stopped by on the way to Weta and we were thrilled with such delightful sandwiches and bread! I only wish we were in Wellington longer so we could come back!

   Still miss Leeds St Bakery. The Shelly Bay wholegrain loaf has far too many seeds on the outside, not enough on the inside. I'm working my way through all the different types of bread to work out what will be my new favourite. Still, really like the new setup. Keep up the good work. Many thanks.❤

   Shelley Bay Baker makes some of the very best bread in Wellington. They deliver too! And they also provide the best organically, locally-grown flour in NZ. I don't know what I'd bake with if they weren't in business.

   Probably the best bagels in Wellington, large and chewy. Much more like a traditional bagel than those sold by Ugly Bagels of Holy Bagels (I don't count supermarket ones which are pretty underwhelming and have textures more like buns than a traditional chewy bagel). I have only bought them from the Lower Hutt farmer's market and have not been to the bakery. 4/5 because of their cost. $3.5 each is expensive compared to the competition and at that price I really have to limit my purchases. $3 would be a fairer price IMHO and say 4 for $11

   This is one of the best bakery I have ever tried in Wellington. My partner and I love to go there and try new breads. Sandwiches are also very fresh and yum, which is really good for my partner’s lunch box or weekend brunch. Staffs are very friendly, helpful and I do like this local bakery nearby my home. Highly recommended! I wanna try all different breads someday. Very happy I found such a nice and lovely place I can get fresh breads. (To be honest, I don’t enjoy bread a lot or everyday, but this place is exceptional and I love Shelly bay baker’s breads.) Thanks Shelly bay baker! ;)
