My experience with Quinovic Kent Terrace (Johnsonville branch) was deeply disappointing, and I’m sharing this to help future tenants, especially students or newcomers to New Zealand, be aware. I rented a unit at 902A/170 Taranaki Street. During my tenancy, the property faced significant, ongoing issues, including a non-functional ventilation system and persistent cannabis smoke from a neighbour. These issues began to affect my health, and after seeking medical advice, I vacated the tenancy on 13 September 2025. Throughout this period, I found my interactions with the agency to be very challenging. Specifically: I was informed that I could not return the keys to the property until a new tenant was found. The Tenancy Tribunal was mentioned in our communications in a manner that I personally found intimidating. After I had vacated the property on medical advice, I was sent a 14-day notice demanding further rent. Additionally, after the tenancy had ended, I was warned not to attend a public open home for the property and was told the police could be involved if I did so. Based on my experience, I believe this behaviour was unacceptable and demonstrated a lack of professionalism. I encourage anyone considering a property managed by Quinovic Kent Terrace to proceed with caution and to be fully informed of your rights under the Residential Tenancies Act.
Was a tenant of a mold infested flat with ridiculously priced rent , did not meet healthy home standards, terrible communication, 0 compassion, avoid quinovic at all costs, god knows how they are still in business. Edit I was a tenant but I do not wish to give my name publicly, this flat was in Khandallah.
A huge shout out to Jordan and Marty. The two have really removed the stresses of property ownership by being available, and exceptionally attentive to meeting the needs of tenants. I’ve been continuously impressed with the can-do, hands-on mentality. And the level of proactiveness is simply incredible. I couldn’t ask for better. Cheers lads.
Honestly I have bad experience with Quinovic. I went for viewing for property with Quinovic agent, and it was very nice property and suits all my requirement, then I asked the agent how to apply and she replied literally "once we finish all the viewing for the property, we will send to all applicants a link to apply for the property". I waited for days, week, and no update back from them, then I got an email that the property has been rented. I called their number to ask about that and they replied that I do not need to wait for link to apply for the property as mentioned by the agent, and these information are incorrect and sorry for that. Indeed, this agent harmed me and I do not know why did she provide me misleading information and the word "sorry" didn't solve my issue because of the limited time I have either to find property or renew with new fixed term contract for my current accommodation.
Force tenants into old legislation, billing them after 8 years to advertise, find new tenants and more. I view this as highly unethical. Update: The below comment tries to avoid that they use every loophole going to milk every cent they can from tenants (even though the loopholes have been closed by recent legislation changes). Most landlords would not behave this way toward the NZ public, especially one who had paid rent at their property for so long. Amy (mentioned) has also followed this approach of thinking this is decent behaviour.
My flatmates and I have been lucky enough to have Amy Dawe as our property manager and we cannot commend her enough! She is such an approachable person and very attentive and responsive to our needs as tenants.
Amy has been an absolutely amazing property manager for us to deal with as tenants. She is always fast to respond to issues and advocate for us when meeting with the owners. Appreciate all her work!
I'm only giving them one star because I can't give them zero. Worst company I've ever dealt with, if I wasn't a property manager myself they would have astronomically stuffed us over. I had heard all the stories about how bad they were but until I had the misfortune of dealing with them firsthand, I did not truly understand how incompetent they are. Amy was our property manager and she has done her best to try and pick up the pieces and sort out the mess which I appreciate and am grateful for, but unfortunately a lot of things are out of her hands and she can only work within company procedures - which haven't been set up well. Don't recommend
After working on Quinovic's rental portfolio over the last few years , we have found them to be very professional. The rental properties are always in good condition and are well maintained. We look forward to continuing our working relationship with Quinovic.
