My go to for Art supplies as long as I know exactly what I want. Not a great store if you want advice because the staff tend to only hang out behind the counter and leave you to fend for yourself.
I am a very regular customer at gordon harris and generally get treated really well but today i went in for spray paint and two of my friends were already there trying to buy spray paint also but they are underage, I told the lady that I wasnβt with them and have come in by myself to buy spray paint but because they made the assumption that i was going to buy it for them therefore they didnβt sell me the paint. I continued to tell them that it was a random encounter seeing them here and I have come on my own accord to purchase spray paint. they continued to shut me down saying i canβt get any paint. I then asked if i came back later by myself can I then purchase the paint and they said that i cannot because they believe that id still give it to my friend. what a stupid policy. Just because I was in the same store as my friend who was denied service Iβm now not allowed to by something I needed based off their evident-less assumption that I was with them? they lost a customer today spray paint is cheaper at bunnings and the staff are actually nice.
I must say this is the most famous place to buy art supplies. This store offers all kinds of items for beginners to professional artists. If you love to paint, you can find many kinds of high-quality equipment and accessories.
Super service, was only getting 2 pens but got treated like a long lost friend. 1 pen was a 'hide lighter' didn't know there was such thing till now. Good for editing pages without bleeding through.
Great shop and huge variety, but I am really unhappy with the service I received. I know nothing about paints and stuff and rely on the staff to inform me of what is good and bad. And also for my (and others') health. Asking for a paint to use for airbrushing, I was taken and advised on paint, but what the gentleman forgot to tell me is the paint is extremely hazardous and an ingredient is known to cause cancer. I would have thought that is something he should have told me about. Now I have to get a respirator to use the paint, and let's face it, this shop isn't cheap. I have no use for the paint UPDATE: The paint I bought is $12.50 and it isn't cost effective for me to spend 3 hrs and $50 on travelling to get a $12.50 refund. You should also update your website to inform people who shop online!
It's a one stop shop and they sell just about everything in terms of art supplies and more. I even like looking at the great range of books that they sell.
Love this place. I think it has the biggest range of products of any of the Gordon Harris stores. Friendly helpful staff.
Gordon Harris has always been and probably will always be the best one stop shop for art supplies. 10% discount for students is a life saver. I'm also super glad to have found out they sell posca pens! I bought a gold and metallic pink posca pens and omg are they good.
Free customer parking out back, friendly and knowledgeable staff, relaxed vibe, and a good range of products.
