Will not buy from here again. Roped into giving it a go after being disappointed last two times. Fish (gurnard) wasn’t fresh and the chips tasted old, like they’d been reheated in the oil. Will drive from Tat North to Helensville to get guaranteed fresh fish from the H Fish Shop next time. Dog enjoyed all the leftovers though! .

We flew in from Los Angeles to find this Gem, the food was on point specifically the fresh seafood. Mussels and snapper are just too good. The kind ladies working the counter were just superb and made our time there fun and even educational learning about Kina and other seafood we haven’t tried. We coming back here in a week, Way too good.

Cashier lady (old lady) very rude and very bad customer handling, simple smile with simple here and there will be a good start. She told us to take the number, us having no clue asked her "oh, what number" we look around) she stayed quiet looked at us while the number is printing slowly. We just grabbed it. Even small bakery has outstanding customer service, seem this one is not Ozzy to everyone.

Staff are super friendly, really easy to deal with. Great value for money. Chips are always freshly made. Came home and noticed they slipped in 5 fried breads. They’re absolutely delicious. A nice surprise for our family take out night today.

What a disappointment! Snapper for $6 not even the size of my hand! Batter was horrible and oily, chips were ok but absorbed a lot of oil, fry bread had a weird chemical/metallic taste, was in the area but won't be coming back.

The service and atmosphere is great. But the food is seriously lacking. Either the cooking oil needs to be changed or the cook because omg the food has gone downhill in the last 2 Months of when I’ve bought food the fish and chips has been revolting. Over cooked fish and soggy batter, snapper at that, hard potato fritters and the bread has some kind of spray paint taste. I don’t what’s happened but won’t be buying fish and chips from here again until it gets sorted, smith and wongs for it they way cheaper and tastier. My kids don’t even wanna finish the food. The only things I’d buy from there now are the kina and oyster pots.

Very inconsistent. Bought smoked kahawai recently - was raw in the middle & very bitter? We keep going back for takeaways because my partner loves the crumbed snapper but there's nothing else I'd really recommend.

Absolutely glad we visited & purchased a variety of fresh seafood, seafood pies & fried bread. Beautiful island lady welcomed us and served our takeaway food. Fresh indeed and absolutely delicious! Definitely recommending this hidden gem!

Used to be 5 stars and now is disappointing, zero star, if there is an option for that. The batter of the fish used to be crispy and tasty in the past. It was one of my preferred fish & chip store, it was good value for the quality, but not anymore. The batter was greasy and soggy. Tasted disgusting. The tables and chars were dirty and filthy. We dined in on Sunday, 14 Aug 2022. I hope they will take feedback seriously and bring back the crispy and tasty batter, on top of keeping the table and chairs clean regularly (more so during COVID Orange alert level).
