   I’m patient at Kenepuru hospital and right now the care here sucks I know other patients have different opinions maybe because they mobile enough to move but for someone who only has one side movement the care sucks it’s because they put too much pressure on their nurses which then results into their not being enough nurses rostered on to work which sucks for people like us that need nurses who are mentally and physically fit enough to look after us

   This place made me and my sick 2 year old son and my 11 year old daughter in and then told us to wait and they maid us wait at least 3 hours then we left and they didn’t give us our money back don’t come to this horrible hospital.

   Waited to be seen 3 hours for a burn wound that got infected… but a guy that calls himself to be a doctor named David Gold at Ed department refuse prescribe antibiotics. He says on his notes to my house GP that he suggested me applying some ointment to prevent getting worse. This is a lie he never suggested anything to me, he only said it will heal itself. I said to him that I have more medical knowledge than him, and again in his notes to my house GP, he said that I called my self a doctor, it’s honestly a joke. Let all alone, on top of that he touches my wound barehand without gloves and yet calls himself a doctor. Yep that’s how the health system works unfortunately. How can you touch a wound without a glove?! So overall bad experience with a bad doctor and I paid $51 for two minute visit and 3 hours waiting time.. never ever coming back there again and definitely not going to see such an inexperienced doctor!

   To be quite frank the waiting time is absolutely ridiculous, went in at 6:30pm hoping I could get my arm stitched up as I had got bitten by a dog. Most definitely wasn’t expecting to be sitting in there until 10:30pm and still not get seen. I do understand the system they have running but would appreciate it if they seen most of the patients that had been there longer than 4 hours.

   I went in to see Dr. William Vaatstra tonight after I ripped my helix piercing, and honestly, he was amazing. Super calm, really easy to talk to, and just made the whole thing way less stressful than I expected. He explained everything clearly and handled it all with so much care and skill. What I appreciated most was how down-to-earth he was. He didn’t rush anything, did everything in his power to make sure I was comfortable, and just had a really genuine way of dealing with people, he is an absolute credit to his profession & made a terrible experience a pleasant one. Thank you Dr. William Vaatstra, your efforts do not go unnoticed :)

   These guys should be ashamed. It’s better to beg on the streets than this. No proper consultation. The doctor literally showed no care. Wrote two names on the paper within less than a minute and went off. The bill came 3 days later which was $51. $51 for what? If you don't have patience, better not go there. The nurses push your file under others according to their opinions, not a high priority one. The nursing staff is absolutely useless and a bunch of jokers. The way they treat patients and make them wait for 5 hours is absolutely disgusting. There was a nurse who initially came once a ten minutes and told us they will be with us shortly. Those staff members are a disgrace to New Zealand’s health care sector

   If you don't have patience, better not go there. The nurses push your file under others according to their opinions, not a high priority one. What? Everyone coming in are sick! It sounds racism to me!!! Now still waiting after 4 hours.

   While the staff are lovely, the wait times are ridiculous if you walk in and want to see a doctor. Four hours seems usual. Not the fault of the staff, but no matter how nice they are, you will still be sitting there for hours. The pharmacy is awesome and there is no coming back for repeats like you have to at commercial pharmacies who want you back in the store so impulse buying will generate more revenue for them.

   Edit: Doctor was amazingly friendly and very careful with the checkup, so he earned more stars for you. Changing my rating from 1star to 4star. Original- Don't ever tell them you are waiting for long time. They will put you in a room saying you are next, then keep you waiting there for hour more so you don't see who else is going in. Called to see the timings, 1 hour on the phone turned 5 hours and still waiting in the special room to be the next patient.
