We had an absolutely wonderful Lord of the Rings day tour with Kaewa Tours and can’t recommend it enough! From the very first moment, we felt completely at ease with Tom. He does an amazing job and has a great ability to adapt to his guests, making the whole experience feel very personal and relaxed. On our private tour, Tom showed us all the important Lord of the Rings filming locations in and around Wellington, sharing interesting background information and stories along the way. We felt comfortable throughout the entire drive, and all the conversations with Tom were genuinely fun and enjoyable. A particularly lovely touch was that Tom also took photos of us. When traveling as a couple, you often end up with less-than-ideal selfies, so it meant a lot to us to come home with beautiful photos where we are actually both in them. These pictures are now wonderful memories of an already perfect day. All in all, it was an unforgettable experience full of amazing locations, great vibes, and Middle-earth magic. We 200% recommend Tom and Kaewa Tours! When we come back next time, we will definitely book another tour with Tom, as Kaewa Tours offers so many fantastic experiences to choose from. Thank you, Tom!

Our experience today was AMAZING!! There are not enough stars on here to rate this experience! The food, the wine, chocolates, honey, cheeses, olive oils and coffee were divine and its so heartening to see the passion these families have in their craft and in their day to day lives. The stories we shared and our amazing guide Tom just made the experience even more special. Thank you Tom and your lovely queen Jill for making this possible for my parents and I AND for the gifts! We absolutely LOVE them!! An experience of a lifetime I shall say. Most definately recommend this experince 1000%. We would do it again in a heartbeat! Kia orana e kia manuia. With love, from Mangaia, Cook Islands.

My husband and I did the private guided full day South Wairarapa tour with Tom as our guide. We have done many excursions and day trips in many countries and I can honestly say that this is one of the best we have ever been on. And the key ingredient that Tom brings? Connection. From our very first meeting, he made us feel very comfortable and he is so genuine and down-to-earth that you feel an immediate connection. We couldn’t have asked for a better day and Tom ensured that we were well taken care of the entire time. The various stops along the way were wonderful. Lots of opportunities for photos. We think it is a very special touch that Tom takes many pics as well and then emails them to you later on. I’ve never seen that done before. The wine tasting and lunch at Poppies in Martinborough was outstanding. The charcuterie was unique and exceptional. The tour to Cape Palliser offered astounding views and I was impressed that Tom braved the 253 steps to the top with us. I could go on because there were so many small details that Tom injected into the day. All I can say is thank you Tom, it was amazing!

Tom! Thank you so much for hosting us on our half day tour of Wellington. Your knowledge of Wellington is incredible and we had such amazing conversations with you that I will reflect back on for many years to come. Thanks for taking us to all the highlight locations of Wellington (plus a little more!). Your care and attention is second to none and we were so blown away by your hospitality. Thank you for taking us to the airport also to pick up our delayed baggage, this was exceptionally kind and appreciated. I look forward to connecting again soon!

We are a couple from the United States, just outside of Boston, and were visiting Wellington and wanted to see the sites and fun local attractions. We met Tom for a foodie tour and he was an amazing host/ambassador. He was punctual and communicated all that we were going to do for the day. He started our meeting by setting expectations and letting us know what we’d be in for. He’s got a great sense of humor and is obviously very knowledgeable of the area. He provided great insight into various areas as we cruised around the city. He checked in with us often to make sure we were comfortable and getting what we wanted out of the tour. The tour took us most of the day and we were able to see beautiful views while sampling coffee, a fine lunch, and craft beers. Tom exceeded expectations as a guide and did a great job of letting us know about things we could explore on the days we were spending in the city. I’ve been to many cities on many tours, and Tom ranks among the best. I highly recommend engaging him and Kaewa Tours.

We did the Martinborough Full Day Food & Wine Tour a few days ago, and we are still buzzing! It was such a great day out! our favourite thing was seeing the Bee's at Greytown Honey! Tom was an excellent guide and made the day just perfect for us. His attention to detail and all the little "extras" definately did not go unnoticed. We highly recommend a Kaewa Tour to anyone wanting to explore the beautiful region.

Excellent private tour with Tom in Wellington and the Kapiti Coast. It was like spending time with an old friend who was showing us around his city. Cannot recommend highly enough and roasting and packing our own coffee was a particular highlight! Tom also took great photos of us throughout the tour and sent them all to us (no extra charge) the following day. He really has the experience down to an art!

ABSOLUTELY the best decision we made for our long awaited BEST FRIEND GETAWAY!! Naomi from Dunedin myself from Palmerston North and the last time we got together for a holiday or catch up on our own was 4 years ago. We were excited to embark on a tour as we have never done this in NZ, you kind of take for granted what is around you. Tom was nothing short of phenomenal. From the time he collected us at our hotel he was incredibly courteous and friendly and we immediately felt comfortable. We headed off to Martinborough on the Foodie Delights Tour with Tom sharing some amazing little points of interest and history along the way. We set out to visit four hand picked experiences in the region by Kaewa Tours and it is evident from the time we arrive that Tom is highly respected by all of his hosts. To be honest I felt we had our moneys worth at our first stop and we had three more to go. Our first visit was to see Karly and Alex Polaschek at Greytown Honey where we did a little Beekeeping and factory tour with Alex followed by tastings with Karly. Incredibly insightful tour and lovely people. Then it was off to Poppies Martinborough for tastings with Owner/Viticulturist Shayne Hammond followed by their fabulous platter lunch. Tom has a huge knowledge of wines and happily engaged with the owners on site creating insights and deeper conversations that were both enlightening and humorous. Shortly after this we headed off to enjoy the Olive grove tour at Olivo, who produces award winning Extra Virgin and infused Olive Oil and the tastings with Owner Helen and John Meehan at Olivo were certainly eye opening. Finishing the day with a 3 cheese platter at C'est Cheese Featherston (home of New Zealand’s best Brie in 2021). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Kaewa Tours, their professionalism engagement and actions throughout the day go far and beyond what we expected. We will be coming back for more so I look forward to the next one.
