My Hilux was taken here after an accident. It was eventually written off, but they kept me informed every step of the way, by phone, right up to its being written off. At times like this, it's the small things that make the difference.
The people I've chatted with have all been responisve and helpful, but it took nearly 4 weeks to get a window and wing mirror replaced after they had my car (a Honda Fit). Then, when I finally got my vehicle back after nearly a month (with no courtesy car for any part), it turns out they hadn't actually reconnected the electrical adjustment of the wing mirror. I've rung to get this sorted and they don't have availability to actually complete the work for over 3 more weeks. They were the repairer my insurance recommended, and is where the work would be guaranteed, so I was a bit stuck - but wouldn't recommend R.S. Lane if you have any urgency to get your car repairs completed. It will be nearly 2 months to fully get these repairs complete which feels absolutely ridiculous for just a smashed mirror and window.
I’ve recently had my car repaired by R S Lane (Te Aro branch) – R S Lane overall almost dropped the ball with the repair arrangements, as I had booked my car in on the basis that I could pick it up after four days (on the Thursday evening), however we extended by agreement to the Friday evening because they’d had staff sickness, etc with the repair team (I hadn’t realised when you drop your car off at R S Lane in Te Aro, it’s trucked out to Petone for repairs). I nearly had a complete meltdown at 3.30pm on Friday afternoon when R S Lane phoned and told me the car wouldn’t, in fact, be ready for pick up as it had missed the transport truck back into Wellington (entirely due to R S Lane Petone delays) and my only option for collecting it before the three-day long weekend was to get myself out to Petone before 5pm … erm … sorry … what?? HOW exactly? Not at ALL a happy pixie, and I wasn’t up for forking out $$$ for a taxi to Petone in Friday afternoon traffic to resolve a situation that had been completely created by R S Lane. Thankfully, however, R S Lane has Linkin working for them as the client liaison in Te Aro: WHAT. A. STAR. Linkin absolutely saved the day and I am still utterly blown away by how ‘over and above’ he went to sort this issue out. NONE of it was his fault (yet he had to front it all and manage my salty reaction), and NONE of it was my fault … Super Linkin to the rescue! After the first phone call (with me almost choking on my tongue), he called me back within 15 minutes with a plan! Linkin had contacted the Petone workshop and arranged to have someone stay there until 5.30pm (thank you person who stayed behind!), and then offered to personally drive me (i.e. in his OWN car and on his OWN time) out to Petone at 5.00pm, once he’d finished work, and closed up the workshop, to collect my car and save the day. Now – I’m sure Linkin doesn’t want to moonlight and offer this service in the normal course of events to everybody, but I VERY much hope R S Lane realises what an absolute superstar they have on their hands!! Linkin’s customer service focus and solutions-based approach was outstanding – HE is the ONLY reason this isn’t a very different review (cough) … yes, the car panel repair was completed as expected, the timeliness / adhering to promised pick up date fell well short, but THANK GOD for Linkin! R S Lane – please make sure you give Linkin a pay rise, he saved your (reputational) bacon.
Had some repairs done this week - phenomenal, professional customer service from Linkin! The repairs look great, and I was so surprised at how simple and streamlined the process was. It was also really quick. Highly recommend!
I had such a seamless and easy experience with RS Lane Panel & Paint. They handled my insurance claim with ease, went out of their way to make it a speedy job, and when I got my car back I was blown away with how good it looked.
