The room is spacious and clean. The staff are very kind and helpful. Because I get injured in my stomach, the manager let me rest over the check out time until 5pm without any charge so that I can rest until I need to go to the airport. Very thankful for the help!
I would not recommend staying at this hotel. When I arrived, I found the place was not clean at all, and the facilities are very old. I also had a very bad experience regarding my personal safety and was subjected to abuse, which required me to defend myself. I cannot provide more details as the police are involved. My advice, especially if you are female and traveling alone, is to avoid staying hereβit's dangerous.
Very clean, good shower, quiet, view of trees in room facing rear of building. Cups, plates, tea and coffee bags, milk pods supplied. Kettle and microwave, cooling aircon. Handy to K Road. Good central location. Speedy no fuss check in. Windows that open. No sound from other rooms. I felt rested and that I had got a bargain.
We checked in late, however, Sam the Manager presented the key to our room showing how to use it. He was very helpful to us in providing a lot of information. Next day, he upgraded our room to a very nice double bed serviced apartment 2E with a nearly new washing machine , dryer, dish washer and mini fridge. The sleep quality was great. The apartment is very clean with clean sheets and towels. There was no mould or insects anywhere. The Heat pump was great and noiseless. The Hotel is located close to everything in the CBD, especially, Sky Tower, Queen st, Auckland ferry terminal and Bus Terminal to go to the Airport. There is a carpark in the ground floor ($25 per night). The Housekeeping staff were amazing, changing sheets and towels every second day. We loved staying here for 2 nights and will stay again in the future.
28yo female Canada. I booked fairly last minute (3 daysout) knowing there would be limited availability. I referred to the photos and thought the space looked dated but it looked clean and well maintained. Upon arrival I was surprised by the lobby. A couch, dirty windows and no desk or staff around. I stood in the lobby wondering if I had gone to the wrong location. When the staff came out of the office he allowed me to check in right away. We had some trouble locating my booking. As he escorted me to the room I was concerned with the smell and the state of the stairways and elevator. The elevator smelled of urine and there was debris all through the halls and stairs. I entered the room and it was cold, damp and smelled of mildew and smoke being covered up by cleaning products. Window was open on a rainy day. I immediately noticed all kinds of cleanliness issues and photographed them. The fridge in particular smelled really bad and showed signs of mold inside. I spoke with staff about my concerns and showed them the photos. They agreed to re clean the room. Upon my return, the stained bedding had been changed and the hair on the shower head was gone but many of the things I had identified had not been addressed. I decided I would not be staying there. Staff were very kind and understanding and apologetic but management claimed that they had never had any complaints about this before even though there are a number of reviews that cite similar issues and concerns. The photos I have posted are ones taken after staff cleaned the room a second time. While some of these may seem small, visible surface cleanliness issues indicated a deeper invisible cleanliness issues and that didnβt make me feel comfortable.
Worst place I have ever Worst place I have stayed! The rooms smell like someone has been chain smoking in them for days when the clearly say "non smoking rooms" on their site. They are currently housing emergency housing people who are intimidating rough and confrontational. Especially when at night where they hung out in the lobby on substances. As three women we did not feel safe. We kept hearing loud bangs and noises through the night. There was dirt and rubbish in the worn lobby, elevator and staircase. We even saw dried blood smeared in the elevator. The rooms were run down and the sheets didn't really feel "clean" . We could not chat to anyone in the morning as no one was there to check out. Once calling later in the day to chat to a staff member to ensure I was properly checked out, I received a email saying that I have a cancellation as a no show so I couldn't leave a review. The manager is rude and said I was threatening after emailing to make a compliant which they asked me to do!. Would not recommend. Have not received my deposit back yet!
Wow! We were so let down. The lift was grubby and looked like blood was on the wall. Our room was clean however smelt like cigarette smoke even though it was meant to be a smoke free room. There was some very interesting characters that were also staying, which made us 3 females feel unsafe. The noises, the smells and the hanging around in lobby wasnβt making our stay any more pleasant. When we contacted the manager to raise our concerns they started acting all dodgy and making out like we didnβt even stay! I wouldnβt recommend staying here at all, theyβre dishonest!
We stayed here over the weekend for a girls weekend in the city. The place was full of unsavoury characters that made the place feel dirty and unsafe. I would not recommend staying here! The place was grubby and our room stank of cigarettes even though itβs supposedly smoke free. If you are going to be housing dodgy characters then you should advertise that. Very disappointed.
I had to book in last minute as my travel plans changed. The reception doesn't look like much and neither does the hallway, but the apartment is just amazing. It has everything you need , spacious and clean and was above my expectations for sure . You even get a little toothpaste which is rare in hotels and was extremely useful . Perhaps one thing that is missing is a separate recycling bin in the apartment.
Good enough for the price. Room was clean and comfortable, but there was a lot of junk stored in the halls. The neighborhood was a little dodgy with all the backpacker hostels, but it was a short walk to the CBD. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
