Great little local theatre to enjoy the play. I've been there to watch 4 musicals so far and always leave with an awe-inspiring impression of how the magic is transformed on the stage. The seating is comfortable, with ample leg room.
A friendly and cozy theatre, with a great community vibe. I went for The Hunchback musical show and it was amazing. The location is also nice - there are many shops and restaurants around. Parking is first come first serve.
Went to the Glen Eden Playhouse Theatre last weekend to watch a musical play! It was easy to access!! Since the play was in the evening lots of parking were available at the back of the building and the seats were comfortable inside the theatre. It was quite spacious and could fit over 100 people!!
Nice small theatre. Went to the Indian dance show and it was amazing. Love the show.
I moved from Whangarei to West Auckland 14 months ago. Early on, after my move, I signed up and became a paid member of the Playhouse Theatre as I enjoy live theatre and to meet new people. Some time after joining and receiving a membership card, as I was driving, I saw a large billboard advertising 12 Angry Jurors at Playhouse Theatre. I wondered why I hadn't received an email about this show. I bought 3 tickets online for this show and we all enjoyed it. I didn't get the opportunity to explain to the volunteers working at that time, and left it. Some months later, I went to a party at the Glen Eden RSA, popped into the Theatre as there was a show on. I spoke to a lovely lady, explained my situation and she recorded my name, email address and phone number and assured me someone will be in touch. I thanked her and asked what the current show is. She told me, Frozen. I said I have 5 young Granddaughters who would love to see Frozen and I'd like to buy tickets. She said the show finishes in a week and is fully booked out. I was devastated and extremely disappointed and still 2 weeks later, I have still had no response from anybody from the Playhouse Theatre and I don't say this lightly, Shame on you.
Love this place, awesome theatre shows by very talented actors, the only downside to attending shows here is the lack of parking unless you arrive very early and get parking at the back of the theatre, although at a night performance you might get parking at the library in oates rd.
What a fantastic show of Frozen. Great theatre and community feel. Will stay tuned for upcoming shows.
Saw a great rendition of 12 Angry Jurors, very entertaining. Plenty of parking at the rear and if you need a beverage or snack to enjoy during the show they are fully equipped.
Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The little bar/refreshment set up is nice. It's a smaller theatre, but it gives a cosy feel. The theatre represents local history from the 1930s, but it does look somewhat tired, and can do with bit of a make over. Regardless, the productions on offer are awesome! A lot of hard work goes into each show, and it's thoroughly enjoyable. This time I saw "Black Adder.. in love" and it was great!
