Staff are friendly. Have a lot of items including laundry powder at a very reasonable and competitive price.
Avoid if possible. Staff wear masks covering mouth only, not nose. A lot of the items are near use by date, and poorly stored so often taste "off". This is based on nearly 10 years living in Hataitai.
There are 2 dairys (convienamce store) that sell food items in Hataitai. Milk, eggs tea, bags ... all your common things. This is the bigger of the 2. Also they sell beer and wine. A Lotto counter is there as well. Staff are friendly. Some things are expensive like meat, but if you are in need of something quick and don't want to go to Kilbirnie supermarkets this is convenient.

Four square is fine. It's a small grocery store with decent range and even has a liquor section. The place is really overpriced, however, and makes me wish that Hataitai had a full supermarket closer than Kilbirnie. For what it is, it's OK and I know I'll be coming back because it is so handy.
