Great vibe and the pizza is outstanding, I also tried the aglio olio but the lemon felt a little too strong in it for my liking. Great vibe and would highly recommend

A terrible experience. I chose this place in the middle of the food court to have pizza and was sitting outside. I bought some fries from the shop next door, and since my pizza hadn’t arrived yet and I was a bit hungry, I had a few fries while waiting. The waiter was working right beside me and didn’t say anything, and there were no signs saying outside food wasn’t allowed. Then suddenly, an older man in a white chef’s uniform came up to me and loudly told me I couldn’t eat that here. It really scared me. He was very rude and completely unable to manage his attitude as a chef.

Mamma Mia! Dante’s has to be one of the finest pizzerias in Auckland. The pizzas are authentic and bursting with flavour, with a beautifully thin, perfectly crisp crust that makes every bite irresistible. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, giving you a true taste of Italy right in Ponsonby. Absolutely worth every visit!

Dined here on a Sunday night. Our meals were delicious. The food is fast. The staff friendly and attentive. We dined as a party of four. Recommend

Dante’s – A Slice of Italy in the Heart of Auckland If you’re on the hunt for the best authentic Italian pizza in Auckland, look no further than Dante’s. Crafted by the talented Chef Kevin, every bite takes you straight to Naples – fresh ingredients, perfect crust, and bold, traditional flavours. We had what can only be described as the best pizza in Auckland. The standout? The Carne Pizza – loaded with perfectly seasoned meats and baked to wood-fired perfection. But don’t stop there – the Bella Stacciatella is a creamy, flavour-packed delight. And don’t even think about skipping the Arancini balls – crispy on the outside, rich and cheesy inside – they’re the perfect appetizer to pair with an ice-cold Peroni Beer. The combination is simply unbeatable. The atmosphere is warm, the service is spot-on, and the food? Unforgettable. Must-try combo: Carne Pizza + Bella Stacciatella + Arancini balls + Peroni Beer = Heaven. Grazie, Chef Kevin – we’ll be back!

Come here for a friend dinner last Sunday and order appetiser and pizza's being Italian I had high expectation for this place and unfortunately I have to say it didn't quite meet them The dough itself was nice with crunchy semolina flour at the bottom and nice traditional Napoletana crust a bit disappointed about the topping which was not enough for our point of view considering the premium price we paid I know a pizza is mostly about the crust, but toppings are also half what you pay for and having 3 slices of eggplant and 3 of cheese doesn't make the price we paid the service was great and the waitress nice and friendly and caring about the service she provided the pizzeria is also located on a street food style area , again another point down on having to justify the high price

Definitely authentic Neapolitan pizza. It wants you to savour the crust with minimal sauce. Staff are efficient and friendly. The place is tiny though you will have a hard time if you want to take off your winter coat. They said the pizza is a personal size but I find that a bit big for 1 person. I will recommend sharing 2 with 3 people.

I've been a loyal patron of this establishment for over seven years, but my most recent experience was profoundly disappointing. It was one of the poorest services I've ever encountered. It seemed as though children were operating the place, with three of them more engrossed in their phones than in serving the customers. Their inattention was glaringly obvious. Our order, which consisted of four pizzas and sides, was botched. Only three pizzas made it to our table, and they bore toppings that we hadn't requested. Additionally, the drinks we received were not the ones we ordered. When one is shelling out premium prices for pizza, it's reasonable to anticipate an excellent experience in return. However, the pizzas were soggy and lacked structural integrity. It's clear that the management needs to take a hard look at the state of affairs in the restaurant, including their choice of staff. It's a sad end to our patronage of what was once our favorite pizza joint in Auckland.

The service is lovely, and the setting quaint. We ordered a pasta each, and although it fit the description, we both longed for a little something more. The sauces on both pastas were adequate, but perhaps lacked a five star depth. I just felt I could have made the pasta at home. We THEN ordered a Woodfire pizza to go which was an 8/10.
